I have an oddly specific question about a story I'm writing. Some of the background of the story happens a generation before the actual events. I am considering two ways of telling this part:

1. In bits of flashback and such spread out throughout the main events.

2. Tell the background story first as its own story, then continue on with the main events.

If you need any more details let me know! Thanks!

Well, generally, I say do the first one. It's more fun to find out things piece by piece instead of having it all thrown at you first and then not be able to remember it.
