(Last update: January 17, 2007) Alright, we'll need some rules here since we haven't got a computer to take care of it for us. 1) Make a character profile under the thread "Gladiator's Lounge". It requires the following format: Name: Race: Age: Time Period: Story of Origin: Battle Experience: Weapons and Armor: Strengths: Weaknesses: Addition Rules or Preferences: Location: Classic/Exchange: 2) To make a challenge under Classic Mode, post under the thread "Challenger's Lounge (Classic)". Include the name of the character you want to use, the page number in the "Gladiator's Lounge" of the character profile, and the post number of the character profile in the "Gladiator's Lounge" of the character profile. To make a reply, contact your opponent through the message service provided by Fictionpress. Include the name of your own character (Character A), the page number in the "Gladiator's Lounge of Character A's profile, and the post number of the Character A's profile. 3) To make a challenge under Exchange mode, post under the thread "Challenger's Lounge (Exchange)". Include the name of the character (Character A) you are willing to exchange, the page number in the "Gladiator's Lounge" of Character A's profile, and the post number of the character profile in the "Gladiator's Lounge" of Character A's profile. After this, add the name of the author you wish to exchange characters with and include the name of the character you wish to use. Once you are finished, contact your opponent through the message service provided by Fictionpress. 4) Once a match is agreed upon, create a thread that follows this format: (Character A) vs. (Character B), (Today's Date) 5) Once a match is concluded, finish the thread by adding one last post each that reads "(Character A) concludes the match". Then, go to my (Tamaki) character profile and click on "send message". Include the name of your thread and I will then lock the thread. In-Fight Rules 6) Character profiles in the Gladiator's Lounge cannot be changed once combat has started. 7) Everything must follow the three second rule. This means that any action you want to make can only take three seconds at most. Any speech does not count toward the three second rule unless it's a magical incantation or something combat-related that doesn't fall under the category of instructions (if in a co-op fight), taunts, dialogue, a speech, etc. 8) You can decide your own move but you can't decide your opponent's reaction. For example, you can say "Character A fired a bullet AT Character B's head", not "Character A fired a bullet THROUGH Character B's head". 9) Character's CAN be killed in battle (if the author controlling it allows it). However, death has no meaning and the renegade Grim Reaper roaming the board will resurrect it to fight again. 10) Any out of character (OOC) speech should be enclosed within double parantheses. ((Put OOC comments here)) This is useful in Exchange Challenges when your opponent does something that is impossible with your character. 11) If you are in an Exchange Challenge and your opponent does something impossible with your character, don't continue action and notify him with an OOC comment that tells him/her to check the Gladiator's Lounge to recheck the page.
