My sister and I thought about creating a children's story. I am the writing and she'll draw some pictures. One of the characters is raised by a thief / street fighter type of person who (the thief) has a change of heart along the way. There will be a few fighting scence, but violence will be kept to a minimum and no blood. Is this appropriate? Thank you!

yeah, sure. why not? think of this: sailor moon and power rangers. They are what everyone believes is suitable for children, but there's violence in it.
