Author Post Anders Bruce Topic: The Giver I read /The Giver/ for the first time last night and this morning. Brilliant, and the predecessor to so many knock-offs: that movie from a few years ago, /The Island/, comes to mind. It was predictable because many of the turns of its plot have become conventions of the dystopian subgenre, yet no less affecting for sporting foreshadowing aimed at sixth graders. #1 Feb 01st, 12:59pm
