Almost all my fan-fic features one or more of my own characters. I recommend that everybody gets their own set of original characters, because you never have to put disclaimers on stuff and anyway it's much more fun when they DO belong to you. Go ahead, give your Mary-Sue a book of her own! You'll probably discover she's actually quite interesting.
When my books/TV series are out (for 'when' read 'if'), I actually hope people'll write fan-fic about them, because that would be really cool. Disturbing, but cool.
I've spent much too much time trying to work out why slash is more fun to write than straight fic, and never come up with a satisfying answer.
I'm obsessed with angels and vampires, although recently I'm getting to be just as bad with elves and wizards.

A random note about my Harry Potter fics (I don't know where else to put it): they're mostly not in the same universe - the back-story is different - but there is one thing that's usually the same, even if I never mention it.

I look at this too often. I think I'll also point out that I know nothing about Gundam Wing or Sailor Moon. Dunno why. Just thought you'd like to know that.

Random fact: I've been making my characters miserable. This is why I've not written any fanfic for a very long time.
Random fact 2: I've never managed to mention my name in here. Or even why I'm Beloved.

Random - the person - writes exceedingly cool lists and an excellent Hellblazer/Buffy crossover. Go read them. Well, now the lists are gone but go and r+r In Over My Head RIGHT NOW.
Sheer Lunacy, also a person, writes things that are funny or disturbing or... other. Read them too.
Angelhair hasn't written anything yet and she should because she's a bit of a comic genius. Or mental patient, I'm not sure.
The Sound Of Home is strange and addictive Harry Draco slash.
Protective Bonds is REALLY strange and slightly dirty Harry Draco slash which has some of the least out of character slash I've ever read. You should never be reading Chapter 5 while on the phone to your English teacher. Trust me on this one.

Spoilers for all my stuff in case anyone looks and because I've not written anything for so long and I'm so close to finishing most of the stuff I'm doing now...
In Cassius and Sunnydale, commando guy returns and bares his thick neck in Cassius' direction.
In Harry Potter and the Elvish Prince, Zerrin's condition changes and there are developments of the most plotly nature.
In A Rainy Night in Soho, I have NO IDEA what's happening next. Go read it, then email me suggestions because I'm pretty seriously stuck with this one and am going on study leave sometime in the scarily near future, so I can fail to write things all day. |
