Author has written 1 story for Sci-Fi. Synopsis: Set in the present time, this series-in-the-works revolves around Prince Zinfer II, son to the late King Zinfer, of the harmonious paradise that is Echon- a utopian-like planet where happiness, civility, and peace have always reigned as the standard way of life amongst all the citizens, which is located out in an unknown, distant galaxy known as the Cascade Nebula. Following in the honorable, age-old tradition of his beloved father and royal ancestors, as well as following his coming-of-age, Zinfer is sent down to the recently-discovered Planet Earth- where he is to thoroughly explore and research this new planet, studying all about its ways and citizens. (The members of the royal Echonian family were born with the remarkable ability to alter their genetic structure at will, allowing them to take on the form of whatever specimen/being solely dominated whatever planet they happened to be investigating, so as to blend in amongst their everyday society.) Zinfer arrives in a small American town called Skyview- your typical suburban town. Upon the evening of his arrival, he meets Alison Taylor, whose great generosity and kindness distinctly reminds him of the nature of his own people, and so is almost immediately drawn to her. The two hit it off right away, and after their opening conversation eventually leads him to confessing that he has nowhere to stay, she cordially offers him room-and-board in her own apartment, of which this “foreign visitor”- overcome with utter gratitude- happily accepts, with all his grateful heart. As the room-mates gradually get to know each other better, they soon discover that they share much in common, and greatly enjoy each other’s company. It doesn’t take them long to become good friends. Meanwhile, the Echonian prince tremendously struggles with his mission on Earth, discovering this planet in his vast research to be a most horrible place indeed, which proves to be the *exact* opposite of his own planet- a world overcome, since the its very origins, with nothing but constant cruelty, suffering, and hatred, of which greatly shocks and appalls him. His regretful discoveries, overshadowing the many other positive and fascinating discoveries of this planet/country, leads him to feel more close to Alison than ever, filling his heart with an even deeper appreciation and gratitude towards her- for, much to his bewilderment, Alison stands out in this environment like a ripe, sweet-smelling rose among an endless collection of thorns, clearly seeming to almost represent one of Echon with her unwavering kindness, compassion, and gentle nature, than that of her own people. Eventually, as their mutual bond of friendship grows all the more stronger and powerful with each passing day, Zinfer comes to realize that he may have fallen deeply in love with Alison- the most fascinating and positive discovery he would ever make upon that strange planet, save his having ever met her in the first place. This opens up a jar of conflicting feelings for the poor young man, which would continuously haunt him from then on, always rendering him confused, frustrated, and torn; on one hand, he knows that he must eventually return to his sorely-missed and beloved home-planet to assume his ultimate dream and proper birthright as King… yet, at the same time, he is firmly bound to his unwavering and ever-growing feelings for Alison, of which he could never break away from- whether he actually wished to, or no. Suffering with wretched homesickness, along with this confounded disposition, his mind and heart are always at war with one-another, as he is constantly torn by his own priorities- fearing that he may be allowing his priority on Earth to overweigh his true priorities as the Echonian prince and heir to the Throne… "From Echon to Earth: A Strange, New World" is a tale of tragedy, love, loyalty, and even betrayal. I am currently working on the second book in the FEtE series, entitled "A Star-Crossed Voyager". I have several ideas for this entire series, and I have a basically good idea of where I am going with each book. I am hoping to turn it into a three-book series, including a possible prequel. | |||||||
