Author has written 6 stories for Biography, General, Play, and Essay.

19-2-06: Updated A Sister's Treasure. Just some minor changes to the original.

Anyway, about me...

My name is Ann, I'm 17 years old,and I have been writing for about five years now (and by "writing" I mean I sit down with a pen and paper on my own free will, and I enjoy it. Obviously I've been writing crap for school for a lot longer.) I used to write fantasy and science fiction "novels", which of course never ended up being novels in any sense of the word, but it was a good way to experiment with the written word. For the last two years I attended the New England Young Writer's Conference, where I learned some stuff and made some good friends. My writing has changed a lot in the last few years and mostly now I write short stories and vignettes. I am beginning to experiment with poetry as well but I am still a little awkward with it. Right now I only have a few things posted, none of it very recent, but I hope to change that soon...whenever I have time.

So right now I am attending an international college in the UK(and by college really they mean high school) and studying the IB...which means I have no free time whatsoever. Hopefully I will find some time to write though.

So yes, read my work if you want, and please review it, I would appreciate any comments or criticism you have to offer. Feel free to be harsh, I want to improve whereever possible.

Also, if you have something you want read and reviewed just send me an email. I am happy to read pretty much anything right now as an excuse to procrastinate. I will write you a worthwhile review if you want me to, and I promise not to be too mean :)

So yeah...Welcome to my world, I guess. I will make this profile more interesting later when I am slightly less sleep deprived. Which will be never.

Look, when a painter would surpass the life,
In limning out a well-proportion’d steed,
His art with nature’s workmanship at strife,
As if the dead the living should exceed;
So did this horse excel a common one,
In shape, in courage, colour, pace and bone.

Round-hoof’d, short-jointed, fetlocks shag and long,
Broad breast, full eye, small head, and nostril wide,
High crest, short ears, straight legs and passing strong,
Thin mane, thick tail, broad buttock, tender hide:
Look, what a horse should have he did not lack,
Save a proud rider on so proud a back.

Shakespeare, "Venus and Adonis" (289-301)

1. A Sister's Treasure reviews
This was an assignment- write a story that takes place over the course of a minute. I think I made some slight changes to this- if I can find the most recent version I will update it.

2. Handel reviews
This was my application essay for my current school. It is about my experience accompanying the choir in Handel's Messiah, and how that experience touched me.

3. Running Home reviews
I wrote this for American Literature...the prompt had something to do with The Great Gatsby, but I don't remember how. Anyway, it's a short story about a girl whose car breaks down after leaving home.

4. Cell reviews
A play I wrote for Creative Writing. It's much better performed, but I figured I'd put it up here for anyone to read. It's a five minute one act that makes a point (or tries to, at least) about cell phones in society today.

5. Caretaking reviews
A short story I wrote for Cretive Writing. The assignment was to use symbology in writing...I agonized over it for weeks and ended up writing this in about ten minutes. It turned out a lot better than expected. About woman who is caring for an elderly
