19-2-06: Updated A Sister's Treasure. Just some minor changes to the original.
Anyway, about me...
My name is Ann, I'm 17 years old,and I have been writing for about five years now (and by "writing" I mean I sit down with a pen and paper on my own free will, and I enjoy it. Obviously I've been writing crap for school for a lot longer.) I used to write fantasy and science fiction "novels", which of course never ended up being novels in any sense of the word, but it was a good way to experiment with the written word. For the last two years I attended the New England Young Writer's Conference, where I learned some stuff and made some good friends. My writing has changed a lot in the last few years and mostly now I write short stories and vignettes. I am beginning to experiment with poetry as well but I am still a little awkward with it. Right now I only have a few things posted, none of it very recent, but I hope to change that soon...whenever I have time.
So right now I am attending an international college in the UK(and by college really they mean high school) and studying the IB...which means I have no free time whatsoever. Hopefully I will find some time to write though.
So yes, read my work if you want, and please review it, I would appreciate any comments or criticism you have to offer. Feel free to be harsh, I want to improve whereever possible.
Also, if you have something you want read and reviewed just send me an email. I am happy to read pretty much anything right now as an excuse to procrastinate. I will write you a worthwhile review if you want me to, and I promise not to be too mean :)
So yeah...Welcome to my world, I guess. I will make this profile more interesting later when I am slightly less sleep deprived. Which will be never.
Look, when a painter would surpass the life,
In limning out a well-proportion’d steed,
His art with nature’s workmanship at strife,
As if the dead the living should exceed;
So did this horse excel a common one,
In shape, in courage, colour, pace and bone.
Round-hoof’d, short-jointed, fetlocks shag and long,
Broad breast, full eye, small head, and nostril wide,
High crest, short ears, straight legs and passing strong,
Thin mane, thick tail, broad buttock, tender hide:
Look, what a horse should have he did not lack,
Save a proud rider on so proud a back.
