Author has written 11 stories for General, Fantasy, Kids, Mystery, Young Adult, Spiritual, and General. This is what happens when you lose your mind-- you delete things off your Fictionpress account for no apparent reason. No, I haven't given up writing. I just haven't written anything. Name: Lockea A. Stone Age: teenager (not for long!) Has been writing: Let's just say that I posted my first originals during the lemon craze. If you don't remember the lemon craze, then you've missed nothing; it was like our current Yaoi craze, except that the characters involved were sometimes actually female. I guess that's a problem if you don't like gay porn. :D Genres: Fantasy, Science Fiction, lots of Romance, Drama, Angst, and Hurt/Comfort. Bonus points if your character's life sucks. Favorite Books: Enchantress from the Stars and Journey Between Worlds by Sylvia Engdahl. Song of the Lioness, Circle of Magic, and The Legend of Beka Cooper by Tamora Pierce. The Demon's Lexicon by Sarah Brennan Rees. Fruits Basket by Natsuki Takaya. Fairy Cube, Gravel Kingdom, and Boys Next Door by Kaori Yuki. A Night of Moon and Water (Yoru no Tsuki to Mizu) by (I forgot). Magebound by Katica Locke (also on FP). Mortal Engines by Philip Reeve. Favorite "Stories" (all stories on Fictionpress or LJ): "The Poisoner's Ring" by Freezing Raine. "Dichotomy" by Fading Madness Productions. "Bran", "Jesse", "Lee", "Intake Counselor", and "The Maiden" by MaculateGiraffe. "Esperanza" by Ocotillo Dawn. "Captive Prince" by Freece. "Gilded Cages" by Pierre Dreams. There's a really telling difference between what books I read versus what stories I read. Thank you homophobic America /sarcasm. Thank you internet /totally serious. On a completely unrelated but totally Lockea note: OHMIGAWD Tamora Pierce gave me a fangasm with her description of whats-his-names Carthaki lover. He is so freakin' pretty! Thank you Tamora for making my life complete by putting a pretty freakin' hot gay character (actually, they're both hot!) in a mainstream fantasy novel AND NOT MAKING FUN OF HIM! You have my eternal devotion, and I may even forgive you for not properly planning that WTF?! Rosethorn/Lark pairing. Now can Rosto please turn out to be bi? Please? National Novel Writing Month 2009!! Hooray November, when the leaves finish falling off the trees and those who live in colder places get snow while those of us who live in freakin' Florida are still running around in shorts and t-shirts. XD Also, the month of literary abandon, in which aspiring novelists and even published novelists (coughcough Amelia Atwater-Rhodes cough) come together to write an entire novel in one month. I've competed for the last four years, and won once in 2007. So now it's time to see if my noveling skills have improved at all and I can actually finish a decent story. And, before you ask, yes. I am back to traumatizing my main characters. Don't worry, Jade's probably one of my most well adjusted protagonists ever. Unspoken. Rated M. Speculative Fiction There's actually NOT going to be any sex in this one (big surprise, this is me you're talking about. I have no desire to kill my brain by trying to write anything more graphic than "They made passionate love to one another"). Instead the focus is on the friendship between Jade and Emmer and the ways in which their rank affects their actions and their lives. There are, however, references to heterosexual, homosexual, and polyfidelous relationships. The society kind of operates under the "everybody is bi" principle (thank you Freud), so if that offends you... tough luck. I did actually consider making Jade female in this story, but there's still too many connotations based on gender (in our society) that I wanted to avoid. Yes, I over thought the plot again. So sue me. Anyway, it should be a fun month. I hope you all will come along with me for the ride that is Unspoken. ~Lockea Stone | |||||||||||
