When it cleans my body and I’m calm. From a sunny place I see the storm, Sitting in my quiet repose, Like a corpse among the weeds, The vines of green entangle in my hair. So that’s how it goes, My tears are all spent, My kisses have been given, Now everything struggles for life. I remember when I was a child, Disasters and wars, But not like today, Now it’s all there before our eyes, We don’t know for certain, But I can hear it- A baby cries in the night, Because her mother is out getting high. Extreme beauty and extreme darkness, Nothing is in the middle, Nothing except the month, Hot but cold, Here but not, The holidays are a long time coming. Now I look over the skyline, Past the concrete castles, Down to the desert in which I live, Alone I barricade my door at night.
