Author has written 1 story for Humor. updated 1/26 okay, well if you made it here, you must be somewhat interested in the inner workings of my brain . . . or you want to know how it is possible that a person as . . . me-y as i am is still alive. the answer is the same either way. i'm kate, i live in oregon, and i am NOT a hick. i'm 15 and a sophomore and currently attending a school with 500-odd girls, so it gets a little crazy sometimes. i'm 5'3"(ish). a short little crazy chick, yup that's me. also i write. obviously. and read. a lot. and talk to my crazy friends, both real and imaginary. and avoid my brother and sister, who have a habit of bombarding me simultaneosly with water balloons. for no apparent reason. damn twins. it's totally unfair. they were born a team! things i adore: cheesecake, everclear, david sedaris's stories, courdorouys, ryan phillipe, penguins, rathergood.com, shakespeare, blink 182, stuffed teddy bears, procrastination, money, dave matthews band, vin diesel, the name "nehalem", JEAN-CLAUDE, comedies, realultimatepower.net, travis fimmel, the movie "a little princess," tigger, turkey sandwiches, medusa lamps, my dog, third man out, the lion king, saying "GAH!", and winning. always must win. things that make me fly into a deadly rage: waiting, little brothers and sisters, the baha men, cleon, people who are stupid and don't try to get smarter, my math teacher, capital letters, the guy in blue crush movie, homework, spiders, scratched CDs, books that are not as good as you thought they'd be (ahhhh! lady knight!!!! *sobs* why?!?!?! WHY??!?!?!), final exams, the assyrians, this annoying girl in my french class, RICHARD, the ring, and squirrels. THE RING UPDATE: i can now go to sleep without looking at the door to make sure samara isn't there. this is a definite improvement. media interests include tamora pierce, as is obvious if you look at my stories. the anita blake books by laurell k. hamilton — jean-claude is a sexy bitch! sloppy firsts by megan mccafferty is the best book in the history of the world, i can't wait for her second novel. marcus flutie rocks my socks! the georgia nicholson books by lousie rennison — go dave the laugh! sabriel and lirael, and i'm (STILL) reading lord of the rings but i will never, ever write a fic about it because i'd maim both the plot and the characters. newsies, although i've yet to write a story about it, but i'll probably get around to writing one someday. ER and west wing, the closest i'll come to reality tv. (UPDATE: except for the cool show that follows people around in cirque du soliel! you know, the cool french circus that's totally awesome! the show is really cool too.) bridget jones's diary, both the book and the movie. gilmore girls -- jess is HOT! monsters inc. is really cute. THE GOONIES! that movie rocks my socks. also artemis fowl, although, admittedly, it is somewhat beneath my normal reading level. well, not really. ella enchanted is a very cute book as well. that's about it . . . i'm away laughing on a fast camel. hah. -lady kate --STORY SITUATIONS-- note: stories that are only one chapter or that i am not planning to write more of will not be written about. but read them anyway. another note: i've discovered a rare phenomenon. once you finish a very important time consuming story, i.e. search for the six, you suddenly feel disinclined to write anything ever again. i am working very hard to get past this but it's not helping that i got a new computer and i don't have any of my old stuff anymore until it returns. seriously though, about this weird disorder: talk to min (the blind assassin, doncha know). she's going through the same thing i am! search for the six: STILL DONE. *breaks into sobs* my baby! search for the six -- uncut: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. they made me take it down! hahahahahahaha... etc. i laughed for like a half an hour. in pursuit of azure's sadness: have the next chapter written, but people don't seem to read stories unless they're about TP's characters. i swear, this is a good story! back to the point: i'm disinclined to post right now. much ado about . . . well, everything: it's moving. ish. i know what i'm doing with it and it's all safely stored in my brain, i just need to get it out. somehow. it's in serious danger of turning into a mary sue and i'm trying to ward that off, so give me some time. philosophical differences: stacey and i are thinking about having a follow-up conversation, seeing as i've now discovered the anita blake books and their many, many hot men. at the time being, however, we can't be sure. er, i think that's all i wanted to mention. let's hope so, because i can't think of any more. MOVING ON . . . --EXCELLENT WRITERS-- cami of queenscove: absolutely fabulous. "rebound" is especially good -- her masterwork! a personal friend of mine. go read her stuff! the blind assassin: author of the single most guily pleasure story in the history of TP fanfics, "fallen idols." now, if you haven't already read this you are either very stupid, or very new. either way, go read it! and the rest of her stuff! rosefyre: very very good. "cerannie" is a splendid piece of work. so is "to tortall." especially since i'm in it. *looks smug* go read her stuff! arsahi: "free falling" is absolutely brilliant. wonderful plot and lots of beauteous fluff. plus a plot twist that only i know about . . . until she writes it of course! go read her stuff! ladyknight: incredibly psycho but hilarious writer. go read her stuff! keita: brilliant writer. her stormwing story (sorry, can't remember the name,) is very very well done. go read her stuff! to finish, here are a few quotes that i per-tick-u-lar-lee like: i think that all right-thinking people in this country are sick and tired of being told that ordinary, decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. i'm certainly not! But i'm sick and tired of being told that i am! -- monty python may the forces of evil become confused on the way to your house. -- george carlin too bad that all the people who know how to run the country are busy driving taxis and cutting hair. -- george burns *driving car in car chase* so...... uh, there's gonna be a slight bump coming up..... *drives car down flight of stairs* --jason bourne (matt damon), the bourne identity i see you have a sword. i have one, too. they're very manly and... tough. --mulan, mulan the hypothalamus is one of the most important parts of the brain, involved in many kinds of motivation, among other functions. the hypothalamus controls the "four f's": 1. fighting; 2. fleeing; 3. feeding; and 4. mating. -- psychology professor in neuropsychology intro course | |||||||
