Lucifer Plagiarizing (Or How I Learned To Avoid It): There is a lot of fear of plagiarizing on this site, because anyone could just copy & paste something you worked hard on and then they could publish it and you get fucked over. But fear no longer! I’m here to explain some great things about copyright. First and foremost, it is copyrighted the second you create it. It belongs to you and no one else. But how can you prove this? Here are three easy steps: 1. Make a copy of the original work complete with title page containing i) the title of the work ii) the author of the work iii) the copyright date (the day you finished it) and owner (you) of the copyright 2. Mail the work to yourself by registered mail (if it isn’t registered, this won’t work) 3. Upon reception, file the work, DO NOT OPEN Now, if down the line some moron-shmuck steals your work, you take this unopened file to the courts, they inspect it and see without a shadow of a doubt that some asshole stole your work and voilá! No more worries, ever.
