Name: Rachel Kinos

About Me: Despite my last name, I’m a chubby white girl. I don’t know how it happened either. I love to read, write, and play my bassoon in the high school band. I’m a junior, currently the copyeditor of the school newspaper, intelligent but lazy. All of this adds up to equal a lack of updates, because I’ve always got something better to read. I’m really trying, though the world just keeps shoving crap in my face, and, unfortunately, physics is more important to my GPA than miscellaneous writing. As much as I wish it were otherwise…

Favorites:

Color- purple

Flower- yellow roses

Quote- "I live in fear of not being misunderstood." (Oscar Wilde)

Books- The Harry Potter series, Marion Zimmer Bradley’s stuff, A Great and Terrible Beauty, most of Micheal Crichton’s books, The Picture of Dorian Gray, memoirs (especially Frank McCourt and Susan Gilman), The Chronicles of Narnia, Good Omens, Roald Dahl’s stuff, The Red Tent, and The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series.

Music- Classic rock, such as Queen, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, the Doors, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Supertramp, Eric Clapton, CCR, David Bowie…the list goes on. I also like musical and movie soundtracks. Yay for Howard Shore !

Movies- The only HP movie I really like so far is Goblet of Fire. Other favorites include Disney cartoons (Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King, in particular), the original Star Wars trilogy (although I also approve Revenge of the Sith), Bend it Like Beckham, Moulin Rouge, Dogma, and the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Sport- Only one, roller derby. If you live in the Dallas area, go cheer on The Wrecking Crew and Mary Coffins! If you’re not, watch “Rollergirls” on A&E, which chronicles the Austin derby league.
