Author has written 33 stories for General, Life, Friendship, Nature, and Love. September 2007 Hey there, welcome to the little space on the web dedicated to my writing. My name is Ashley Lynn Gormley. Before you think I'm ridiculous for using my middle name I'm ridiculous for other reasons LOL, I'll explain it. I consider my middle name very much a part of my identity because I feel it connects me to my sister Addie, whom I've never met. She died of Neuroblastoma cancer at the age of four a full year before I was born. I do, however, feel she has made a huge impact on my life, so I am fond of using my middle name to keep her in my memory, for Lynn was too her middle name, and I was named by my parents for her "ashes" (though she was not cremated). Anywho-- on a less morbid note, I am 20-years old and live in NYC. Simply put, I quite love words. The written, spoken, and vocalized (I mean
singing!) word is the medium in which I feel I express myself best. Though a glimpse is a glimpse. You may read some of my more "angsty" poems, and get the impression that I am a sad or depressed person. Truth is, I am human and have my share of ups and downs in life. I find it simple to share the ups and usually feelings accompanying them with friends and family. It is more difficult for me to clearly impart my feelings of fear, pain, doubt, etc. in conversation with family or friends. I become frustrated when I cannot put my feelings into words. When I discovered the release I felt from manifesting negative feelings into poetry(around age 12), I was hooked. I know there are ups of life, positive feelings, like falling in love, that are as difficult to impart as the negative feelings, and when I experience those particular feelings I am certain this will be a way I manifest them. What else is there to know?
