I started university! When I first got my fanfiction account I was in middle school. o.o;; Has it really been that long? And look - I still haven't finished anything except the poems which don't count. -sighs-
I am a bad person. I am a bad writer. -slaps her own hand- A procrastinator, a lazy bum. I do have finished works... just none of them are typed. All hand written. I like to hand write stuff. I hate typing. So why do I have this account? Because my friend wanted me to put my stuff online all those years ago... That turned out well, didn't it? Yeah... right.
No, but seriously, I will eventually finish something I put up here. One day... in the far future... when I have time...
If you get the chance to read any of the partial stuff put up feel free to email me or something if you want me to continue it (in the email I recommend throwing things at me - it might wake me up).
University has been keeping me museless. I'm 3000 miles away from home in a foreign country finding making friends difficult since most are study abroad kids here for one term when I'm here for 4 years... but I'm trying to find my muse and write. Hopefully I'll find her soon because I have a lot of stories I need to work on before I go home for the summer or else I will be attacked and beaten with sticks and shoes and other sharp or painful objects. .;;
So, um, anyway... Future Works:
Area Code 942 - lame title, but... whatever! XP I like lame titles ok? Yeah, that's right. So it's about this girl and this phone call and this boy... you're surprised, ne? Didn't think so.
Blood Throne - Sounds exciting, but... it's just another fantasy/love story. I know it's a common theme for me. 'Make it stop' I hear you saying. I'll try! I'm really working on getting away from that same old romance-fantasy-ness that I always write.
Of Vampires and Validation - Fantasy and... romance! You got it! Christ. I'm pathetic, huh? Anyway... one night a girl is suddenly preyed upon by a vampire and turned. When she awakes to her new life he's spewing random things about her being more than just your average vampire. Is he insane or is there a little more truth to his words than the girl wants to admit? It started as an assignment for Creative Writing Club, but I sort of liked the idea...
Insert Witty Title Here... - Andy and Mercy hadn't gotten along since third grade. They loathed each other, but in high school Andy is the King and Mercy is the Queen. It's only natural they're together, correct? So for public appearances only they put aside their differences and come across as the perfect couple, but they'll always hate each other behind the scenes - right? I'm sounding like a broken record when I say it's another romance story, huh?
And other assorted first chapters... Inspiration would be nice though. If anyone has any extra to spare mind sending it my way? It would be greatly appreciated!
Works In Progress...
The Rising - Pheonix (yes, it's incorrectly spelled on purpose. The purpose being because I wanted to and it makes Phee seem like a more suitable nickname. There's also a funny song that mentions spelling Phoenix as Pheonix... I'll add the name and singer here if I remember it later. Anyway...) Pheonix suddenly opens her eyes one day to find herself in her bedroom covered in ash and with a dagger poised above her heart. She then notes how she struggles with two memories. One is that of a modern girl and the other is that of a girl from centuries past. She seeks someone to help her figure things out, but finds a lot more than she bargained for.
The Passing - A short story about a girl with an abusive past who wants nothing more than to continue leading her new life with her childhood friend and forget everything before it, but finds that to be much easier said than done when her father walks back into her reality and shatters everything.
The Dark Side of Wonder - A sort of "what happened after?" story based on Alice in Wonderland. Alice has left Wonder, but she left it in turmoil with the Red Queen angrier than ever. Things spiral downward rapidly and then to make matters worse a prophecy is told of one from another world who will come and rule Wonder. As if the Red Queen didn't have enough of a grudge against girls from another world (can you blame her after Alice?). In drops Leora who the Queen immediately pins as the usurper of her throne. Follow that up with handsome strangers helping runaways, mischief and evil cats, wicked forests, fancy cakes, and mass confusion (with just a dash of the morbid and macabre) and you have The Dark Side of Wonder. Fantasy romance because I can't seem to get away... v.v;;
Mere Infatuation - Romance, but only fictional romance. Not fantasy. Woo! Haha. This story was random, unplanned, totally spontaneous. I finished chapter 3 of DSW and the idea came to me and I started writing and BAM. We have a story. I don't see it being very long. Five chapters maybe? It's fiction, but there is a dash of truth to it. The main story is completely made up, but the history the girl has with the main male lead is littered with experiences I've had. Other than that though - completely fake. Right. So. A girl finds herself thinking about a boy she's known for years out of the blue and suddenly she can't get him out of her head. She never thought she'd see him again, but then she goes home for summer and who does she run into almost immediately? Well it ain't Santa, that's for sure. And so starts a long, confusing, exhausting vacation (if you can call it that) mixed with arguments, discoveries, and spontaneous make-out sessions. Ah, summer!
Mail-Order Romance - Uh... just a little fluff sort of story right now. I'm just trying to get used to writing general fiction/life fiction... This story was spawned from an idea my flatmate and I had to create a mail-order boyfriend company where people could go on a website or use a catalog to find potential boys to date... it was very complex even though it took us thirty seconds to start and we developed the whole thing in detail in the three minutes it took us to walk to the bus stop... Anyway... It's about a 21 year old girl who comes home from university to her eccentric mother who's suddenly obsessed with finding her daughter a boyfriend/potential husband. So her mother orders her a boy from the catalog, but things don't go so smoothly...
Works In Progress (on hold)...
A Great Age of Sorrow - Ebrille lived most of her life in a broken down garage without a family, without friends. All that changes rapidly though when she's hit by a miracle. Literally... sort of. When Aryck Malloy hits her with the car he just stole she finds herself injured and lost, but soon enough she's taken in by a loving couple who turn her life around. Things are going well until he shows up again. Does he bring bad luck wherever he goes or is Ebrille just... lucky like that?
Why it's on hold: I have a second chapter already written for it... but it's in the States... and I don't know if I want to write a new one... maybe I will...
Two Worlds At War - mm... yeah... rereading this story I didn't really like where it was going or... anything really. I'm actually thinking of taking it down. I may rewrite it later, but most likely it'll just go into the 'discarded ideas' folder.
Anyway yeah - much love,
Caitlyn
