Hey Ya'll!! For those of you who have been reading "Something Deeper" you may have noticed that it has taken me over a month to update (Don't worry, chapter five should be up within the next week or so, and no more slow updating, Lord willin'!) And I for once actually have AN EXCUSE!! And some of you may absolutely HATE ME for this, but I have to tell this story!! Me and my family just got back from our vacation touring the Southwest portion of the United States. It was all very awesome as I have never been outta the South before, and believe me all of you Arizonians noticed ^_^ Anyhow, THIS IS THE MOST UNBELIEVABLE STORY EVER! Lol, just had to say it one more time! Before leaving on the trip I was able to obtain some directions to a certain studio all of you know very well. I called this studio, known simply as FUNImation Productions LTD. and asked if there were tours through the Studio. The lady was very nice, but said that they didn't give tours anymore. Heartbroken, I left my directions at home because I didn't think I would need them. However, our car broke down in Louisiana, so we had to patch it up and come back to Mississippi to trade cars. My mom had seen how upset I was, and she told me to get the directions because she might talk dad into driving by so we could take pictures in the parking lot. Well, I get the directions and we're off for Dallas!! We stopped about 2am that morning and stayed in a Motel 6 about 45 miles out of Dallas, we had been in the car for more than thirteen hours that day, so I was exhausted. The next day we started out and headed for Fort Worth, Texas, home of FUNimation Studios! We had a real trouble with the directions, as some of them were rather off. We reached the interstate loop that the Studio was supposed to be on....but we couldn't find it anywhere!! We were going around the loop for about the second time, and I was praying really hard that we could find the place, I had been ever since we left the day before. We're about to give up and leave, because we had gotten a late start and we needed to be in New Mexico by that night. So we're about ready to turn around.... And then SQUEEEEECH!!! Our car makes the most horrendous noise I've ever heard!! As if by intervention, our car makes the noise in eyeshot of a Pep Boys. We pull into the station and await the news. The mechanic said that it was the fan belt, and that it would take a couple of hours to fix. I was devestated. I felt responsible for the breakdown, and now me and my family were deserted with no means of transportation, I was only lucky we were in a heavily marketed area, so we had plenty of stores to hang out at until it was fixed. But my hopes of ever seeing the studio were smashed to oblivion. As I walked across the street to a Chevron gas station, I was like "God, why did you do that?" I truly fely horrible. I got to the station and went in, used the bathroom (info overload!) and bought a map of the area, if for no other reason than to hope that I could find the Studio (AS IF! Darn, I was desperate) Anyhow, I check out and ask the man behind the counter "Do you know where FUNimation Studios is?" And he looked at me like I was crazy. He and the lady behind the counter had never even heard of Dragonball Z. I turned around, utterly destroyed, and there is a man and his wife standing there in line, and he says, "You mean the place where they record the cartoons?" And I was like "YEAH!!" And he notcies my shirt (SSJ Gohan Muscle T!) and says, "Dragonball Z?" And I'm like "YEAH!!YEAH!!!" And he like steps outside, and points. *At this point all of you should know, if you had any doubts before that THERE IS A GOD AND HE IS EXTREMELY GIVING* BECAUSE THE STUDIOS IS THREE BUSINESSES DOWN!!! I nearly died. As soon as I gained composure I went and told my mom about it. Then, we walked down to the Studio. It was a big building that shared it's facilities with many other businesses, like law offices and whatnot. I get there, and there are people walking in and out, so I do what any normal person would do. I went in. And as soon as I was through the glass doors, I turned to my right, and through the big glass walls, I saw something I'll NEVER forget. The FUNimation logo sculpted into a reisin slab, which looked like real stone. There were DBZ plaques on the wall, and DBZ memorabillia on the desks and shelves. I nearly died! However, there was a door there and I didn't want to be rude, so I drooled like a maniac outside and looked in awe. The receptionist came out from another room adjoining to the office, and she told me I could come in and take pictures!! So I did, and my mom videotaped it (Which, sadly, didn;t come out because of some stupid reason!) But I did get lotsa pics!! Me and my sister were acting like madmen coming out of there, and we started taking pictures outside of the building, doing the "Kamehameha" and other poses. And there was a woman sitting there laughing at us while she was on her break. We started talking to her and she told us that she worked in the law office on the fourth floor. Me and my sister were amazed that anyone could work in the same building as FUNimation and appear to be normal. I then asked the ONE SOLITARY question I had been dreaming of but never dared to aks up until now. "Do you know any of the voice actors?" And you know what she said? "Oh yeah, we hang out together on our breaks all the time, they're crazy....why, do you want to meet them?" Had Goku himself shot me with a ki blast I couldn't have been any more stunned. I was like "YES MA'AM!! YES MA'AM!!!" And she got up and walked around to the side of the building.... and she's like, "Sorry, there not out right now. But if you come back in about an hour, they might be out and I'm sure they'd like to meet you." Me and my sister thanked her, ran about a hundred yards and FREAKED OUT!!!! I begged my mom to stay around even if the car was fixed. She said to come an dlook at an antique store and we could come back later. me and my sister nearly DIED running around that antique store!! We were red, EXTREMELY RED at the prospect of knowing that some voice actors MIGHT be only buildings away! Okay, so it was a gruesomely long hour, but we came back and sat in the lobby. My dad and brother went to get the car because it was almost fixed, so I knew we had little time. We sat in the lobby and waited and waited. No one came out from down the stairs or in the office there, so we waited some more. My mom waited outside, and was about ready to leave because nothing happened. So I started to pray some more. God had brought me this far, and so I prayed like crazy that He would let me at least get the chance to meet someone. We were about to leave when someone came out from down the stairs. I was about to let him go, when I noticed that VEGETA was on the back of his T-shirt. I got up and followed him outside. We talked for a while, he told me his name was Dave and that he worked on sound and things like that for FUNimation. Then he asked me about myself. I told him about our car breaking down, and he was extremely nice about it. Then he asked me, "So why are you here, anyway?" And I was like, "I absolutely love Dragonball Z, and while me and my family were on vacation, I begged them to come by here so I could see the Studios, and then our car broke down. I just wanted to come here so that I could meet some people who worked here, and I was really hoping that by some extremely lucky chance I might get to meet a Voice Actor." And he's like, "So you like VA's?" And I'm like "Yessir!" And so he's like "Well, I'll go up to the recording studio and see if anyone is here." He started looking across the parking lot, and he's like "But to tell you the truth I don't know if anyone is here today." So I followed him in and he went upstairs. I RAN over to where my sister was sitting like a lazybutt and told her what was going on. I RAN outside and told my mom to get the video camera ready just in case. Well, we waited and waited for about five minutes... And then the door opened and Dave came out, and he said... "Sorry you guys.....I could only find a few." AND THEN I SWEAR TO MY DYING DAY I'LL NEVER FORGET THE WAY MY HEART ACTUALLY STOPPED, BECAUSE OUT WALKED CHRIS SABAT, SEAN SCHEMMEL AND MIKE MCFARLAND!!!!! AND FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DON'T KNOW!!!! CHRIS SABAT IS THE VOICE OF VEGETA, PICCOLO, YAMCHA, KAMI AND MR. POPO!!! SEAN SCHEMMEL IS THE VOICE OF GOKU, KING KAI AND NAIL!!! AND MIKE MCFARLAND IS THE VOICE OF MASTER ROSHI AND YAJIROBE!! Believe it or not, I swear it's the truth! They hung out with us for like fifteen minutes, took pictures and signed our shirts. I have story after story I could tell, but if you want to hear any specifics, email me and I'll tell you!!! Also, I don't have a scanner, but if I find someone who does I will be making a homepage about my experience, and I'll post the link here when I do. Let me just say this, when they started doing their character voices, I DIED. Had they not the dragonballs handy I WOULDNT be writing this right now!! And to anger all you Veggie-heads, let me just TELL you what my sister did. You all know the too sweet scene when Majin Vegeta sacrifices himself for Trunks and Bulma, and he says his famous line, "Trunks, Bulma, I do this for you, and yes, even for you, Kakarott." Well, that happens to be my sisters favorite line *She is a die-hard Vegeta fan* and so she got Chris to re-do that line, only substituting her name for Bulma's. SHE DIED AFTER I DID. I got Goku to say my name, as well as Piccolo and Vegeta. It was AWESOME! As I told my sister on leaving, you haven't lived until you've been insulted by Vegeta (Direct Quote: "You dropped your pen, idiot"), Complimented by Goku ("I've never met a fighter as powerful as *Tenshi* before!") and hit on by Master Roshi ("What's a pretty girl like you doin' around these parts?") And yes, they all said those lines in their character voices. I got MULTIPLE HUGS and autographs, not to mention a memory that will last an entire LIFETIME. *Hits knees* THANK YOU GOD!!!! And now, I hope you won't mind, but I have to cut loose *GRABS HEAD IN A FIT OF CONVULSION, DANCES UNRESTRAINED AROUND THE OFFICE SCREAMING* AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I MET THE DBZ VOICE CAST!!!!!!!! *recovers somewhat* eeeshh... I still can't believe it. And for those of you who might have seen pictures of the cast, let me say pictures don't do them justice because they're all terribly hott in real life. I especially thought Sean was adorable ^_^ hehe....don't tell!! Okay...I sure figure that I oughtta put something about myself in here now. I am 16 years old and from the Southern part of the United States. I am totally in love with anime, for those of you who have bad comprehension skills my favorite anime is Dragonball Z. *Gee, who coulnd't figure that one out?* I also love Dragonball ALMOST as much as DBZ, it's just TOO funny and Goku is SOOOO ADORABLE as a wittle kid!! I also like Outlaw Star, Tenchi Muyo, Inuyasha, Yu Yu Hakusho and a lot of others. I don't have a whole lotta experience with anime, as I have only been into it seriously for a little over a year. I want to see AKIRA SOOO BAD, but my older brother won't let me rent it until I'm seventeen *Grumbles angrily* oh well, he'll get his!! BWUHAHA! Anyhow, I don't rent many anime solely for the fact that I know most anime that doesn't come on TV doesn't come on TV for a reason. That reason being it is usually chocked full of sex, which is something I really don't care to see. I remember back when i first got into anime, someone told me that they actually cussed and had sex. I had NEVER heard of any *cartoon* that had that in it. NOTE: Anime is not the same as a regular *cartoon* dangit!! Their is a distinct difference between the two just as much as there is in cartoons and live action!! GOT IT?! GOOD! Anyhow, if you ever have a friend that is just getting i to anime, it could be fun to blatantly LIE to them about everything!! Because THAT is what happened to me when I was first getting in to Dragonball Z. Let me tell you some 'misconceptions' my little sister and older brother plagued me with!! ¤VITAL MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT ANIME¤ 1) I was told that there was an actual episode that showed Vegeta and Bulma getting married, but the Japanese wouldn't bring it over to America for confidential reasons. RESULT: did I believe it? YES. 2) MY DUMB SISTER told me that after Goku died that Chichi cheated on him and when he came back he had an emotional breakdown. RESULT: Did I believe? YES! 3) I was told that in the original uncut Japanese version that it showed the conception of Goten. RESULT: did I believe? YES! 4) I was also told in the orginal uncut version that there was an episode that showed Vegeta and Bulm actually 'get together' RESULT: Did I believe? YES! 5) And somehow I came to this conclusion on my own by hearing things and becoming disoriented: Bulma and Yamcha break up and Bulma gets with Vegeta. Vegeta doesn't really love Bulma and leaves her after Trunks is born, and Bulma goes back to Yamcha who is the real love of her life. RESULT: Did I believe? Yes! So you see, You can have LOTS OF FUN screwing with your friends minds! Some of those memories were often my fondest of being blissfully unaware of the truth. Especially that Chichi cheating on Goku thing, that was SO WRONG of my sister but one of my fondest memories. So if you a true friend, LIE TO YOUR FRIENDS ABOUT ANIME!! BWUHAHAHA!!! Anyhow, now is a time to give a shout out to all my friends: Mira~ Mira, oh Mira, what would I ever do without you? Fade out of existence, perhaps? BWUHAHA!! I love you like my own SON!!!
