Veronica A. Riley is an accomplished thinker, zookeeper, book collector, cat wrangler, snake charmer, alligator wrestler, princess of the pessimistic and all-around goddess of the universe who spends too much time imagining my characters and not enough time writing them. I'm commonly described as lacking a working filter between my brain and my mouth, brazenly bitchy, pig-headed, arrogant, and ignorantly defiant. I have a mouth like a sailor, a satiric sense of humor, reversed insomnia, an unequivocal lack of give-a-damn, and am distinctly devoid of common sense. 7.25.09 - Attention Readers...
For those of you following Changelings, I have to thank you. I couldn't be happier with the amount of press it's been getting and the reviews; you guys are the greatest. So I'd like to tell you all that while I continue the sagas of the changelings, I will working on individual novels for each of them. That's right. Starting with Dantes and Miranda, I will begin writing their whole story. I intend to get it published, so I hope you all look forward to that with me. It's going to be rough, but I know that I have all of you behind me so I will be able to get through it.

Thanks again, guys. I'll be sure to keep you all posted on what comes next :)

8.6.09 - Changelings FANART contest!
Attention readers! I received a lovely little piece of fanart from a friend this week, and it give me the wonderful idea that could benefit the readers--that means YOU! This contest is open to ANYONE that read Changelings so listen closely!
So here's the rules:
Anything goes! That's right...You can draw whoever you like, as long as they are a character a within the Changelings universe! Dantes, Miranda, Meirion, Sophie, Giselle, Reule, Adara, and any other characters I have mentioned or introduce. The contest is going to run until October 31st, so you can theme it to the occasion if you like. I'm going to give a First place, and Runner up prize, and those are... drumroll You get to be turned into characters! That's right! The winners get to make an appearance in the upcoming story!
I'm not looking for the next Michaelangelo, or Picasso; the winners won't be based on your ability to draw... It's based on how you see the character's physical appearance in comparison to me. Do you see what I see?

The Changelings of Syre:
In the kingdom of Syre, the legends of Changelings have invoked fear in the hearts the people, teaching mothers to warn their children to never stray from the eyes of adults, and for fathers to guard their young daughters. But what are the Changelings? Are they really as fearsome as the legends portray them to be? In this series of short stories, you'll meet some of the Changelings who live amongst the people as princes, knights, hunters, and rogues, as well as the women they choose as their mates.
