I am in my forties and it has taken me all this time to discover the existence of fanfiction. I have, however, been an admirer of the works of Tolkien since I was a teenager. This is my first attempt at writing anything at all and my thanks go out to all at the Henneth Annun discussion group who refused to take my whine of “I don’t write” at face value.
