I'm Marina (aka Rina, Marinay, Marine-life, Rina-bear, Sunshine, Chloe, and others). You can call me either Marina or Chloe, as I answer to both. ^_^
A little about me: I'm a nineteen-year-old, soon-to-be-sophomore in college, majoring in Music Education. I love music, anime, DDR, spending time with friends, most everything about college, and sleeping (in addition to writing, of course). As far as pets are concerned, I have two siblings, a dog, two cats,and a demon parakeet. My favorite drink is iced coffee, and I'm a Mac user. *is promptly pelted with tomatoes*
I've been writing as a hobby for close to seven years now, and I will have been on FPC for four years come August (yikes!). It's been loads of fun here. I've met lots of fun people and read tons of fantastic stories, and am really sorry I don't have the time I once did to play on it. College (and work) is taking a big bite of of my head, so I don't update often and can't leave many reviews. (Not, of course, that I've had much of a regular posting schedule since finishing Guardian, but whatever.) Mainly, I like to write fantasy. It's been my main genre throughout my entire writing career. I like thinking up fantastical plots, but I don't just write about these fantasies. I try to mix them with elements that make the stories also just about life. (Yay internal conflict!) They say all stories reflect the author on some level, and that's definitely true with me, since I pour my heart out into all my stories. If you know me well enough, you can see reflections of my real world in the ones I create.
As for recommendations, on FPC I'd definitely recommend all the stories/writers on my favorites list. They all have fun and original ideas (some have just entirely blown me away). In addition, I recommend Mary Stewart (in particular, her Merlin trilogy), J.R.R. Tolkien (we all know his stuff, right?), Catherine Marshall, Beverly Lewis, and most of Meg Cabot's stuff (some of the more recent things she's written have just been over the top). FANTASTIC writers all. Go read them. Now. *points imperiously*

Posting Schedule: Being completely honest, I will probably never have a regular posting schedule again. Writing under a deadline kills my inspiration and makes me pump out crap instead of actual good writing. You can expect new things from time to time, though, and if I put up another chapter story, I'll do my best to get new chapters posted fairly regularly. No promises on that end, though...my main priority is Guardian edits at the moment.
Other things: From here on out I will do my utmost to return reviews faithfully. I'm sorry I didn't have the chance to last year when I was a freshman, but being a music major I was busy all the time. This year I'll be more settled in and will have the time to at least return the big, big favor you will do for me if you review my story. If you have a preference as to which story/poem of yours you want me to read, let me know in your review. (Keep in mind though, that I am not a poetry critic as I know next to nothing about them. ^_^)
The works I have up here are my current best, so please please PLEASE respect that and don't leave me flames. It's rude and inconsiderate, and a waste of time for both me and the flamer. Don't do it. I will not, repeat NOT, be returning any reviews that flame. Also, don't try to steal my work. My stories are my brainchildren and very special to me, and I'm putting them up on FPC because I like sharing them and getting feedback. If I catch anyone trying to plagiarize my works, I will not only report that person but also remove mine from the site. If anyone sees a story that may be a copy of mine, please let me know so I can read it and have a chat with the person. Thanks in advance.
