Yay for the boringness of life! Ugh...summer is seriously dragging me down. It's so pretty and mocking, you know? I just want to go outside and hug it and then as soon as I go outside I get smothered by a huge wave of humidity and the misquitos come a swarming and before long I am seeking refuge inside my air conditioned house and hating Nature for looking so tempting and yet being so itchy. You really have to be in the perfect mind set to enjoy being outside in the summer time and I really don't think I'm one of those people. I really do prefer the winter. I mean, sure it doesn't look like much at times but you know that it's cold for certain. It's got that icy clarity and perfection and you know that if only you can pull on enough clothing she will let you out to play with her. I miss snow. I know that I'm crazy for wishing that but I do. I really miss winter. I love snugging up on cold winter nights after being outside. I even like falling on my butt in the snow and getting up to laugh about it. You're not a klutz in the winter, it's the snow's fault.
So it's a little after ten o'clock and I'm missing winter like crazy and it's only June. I just updated my Key to Faeryland story and thus I figured maybe a little tale of my tales was in order for anyone who might care to hear about it.
Alright first off, "The Key to Faeryland"
History: The Key to Fairyland is my own little lark. I began to envision it when I was in seventh grade but I never wrote it down because it was one of my silly little ideas. Then in high school I wrote down a little piece about the Santai, Wilfred. Then a month ago, I was in Turkey on a school trip and my friend Emily read that little piece, (I'm imagining a lot of eyebrows going up now). Anywho, my friend Emily wanted to know why there wasn't more of it, and so I drudged up my own memories of the land that I have squirrled away in my imagination and I began to write. The main character used to be named Tracy, but I no longer like that name so I changed it to Emily in honor of the person who kicked my butt to get back into writing it.
Main People:
Emily - The little girl who is destined to be the new Mae of Faeryland. An inquistive little girl with blonde hair, blue eyes and an imagination that make Faeryland richer in being just for having her there.
Rowan - My baby!!! I love Rowan so much. He is probably the one of the first characters I created for this in my head. I love cats and I always wanted a pet tiger when I was little. So Rowan is a large siberian tiger who can talk and who is an absolute dear.
Becky - I grew up in a small town in Minnesota and in the back of my house was this squat little crab apple tree. It was the ugliest tree on the block during every month but May. Because in May was when it blossomed and then it blew everyone away. We couldn't eat the apples on the tree because they weren't edible but it didn't matter to me because I loved the tree so much. Now my window faced this tree and my window also looked out over the kitchen addition roof and so on nice nights in the summer and fall, I would pry out my window screen and climb onto the room and sit and listen. I listened to the crab apple tree and the huge oak tree in my neighbor's yard rustle and creak and thus imagined up the idea of tree's talking. Now Becky is an oak tree, but there will most definetly be a Crab Apple tree appearing soon.
Diana - The Roman Goddess of The Moon and Hunting and Women. Also known as Artemis. I actually like the name Artemis better but I don't like the name Helios so I decided to go with the Roman names so I could use Apollo.
Apollo - The Roman God of the Sun.
Wilfred Rounder - The lead member of the Santai who are entrusted with keeping the glass of innocence safe and clear (the glass is a looking glass that reflects the health of Faeryland because Faeryland needs Innocence to survive), and who are entrusted with calling and caring for the Mae's, the rulers of the world. Wilfred (who hates his name) is a tall purple man being, with three ears. The third, being half the size of an infants' ear. It is with this third ear that he is able to ear children crying and come to their defense against nightmares and ghouls.
These are the main characters at the moment. I will go in depth about Olivia, Derek, Edwina, and the Echoes and others soon, but I don't want to this to get too long. I may type of a history of these peoples and start a different thread with them. Maybe.
Anyway, I was going to do info. on Remembrance as well, but I don't want to have a really long profile thing, so I'll do that later. As for Fallen Angel, I AM NOT WRITING ANYMORE OF IT!!! okay, that's a little bit of a lie since I do have a fourth chapter written that I've never put up. But still. Fallen Angel as well...fallen. Maybe I'll pick it up again, but I don't know if I will. For the moment, it is dead. Remembrance and Faeryland have my mind at the moment, so Fallen Angel will continue to be neglected. Sorry.
Later,
Cat
