Current Quote/Poem: Sonnet - To the River Otter by S.T. Coleridge
"Dear native brook! wild streamlet of the West!
How many various-fated years have past,
What happy, and what mournful hours, since last
I skimmed the smooth thin stone along thy breast,
Numbering its light leaps! yet so deep imprest
Sink the sweet scenes of childhood, that mine eyes
I never shut amid the sunny ray,
But straight with all their tints thy waters rise,
Thy crossing plank, thy marge with willows grey,
And bedded sand that, veined with various dyes,
Gleamed through thy bright transparence! On my way,
Visions of childhood! oft have ye beguiled
Lone manhood's cares, yet waking fondest sighs:
Ah! that once more I were a careless child!"

Current Book I'm reading: Just finished Catcher in the Rye - I LOVED IT! Don't know what's next. I think Hemingway.
My favorite Poem I've submitted on here thus far: Digging
My least favorite (it's really not much my style at all) that I've submitted on here: I Wonder
Enjoy!
*** Updated Feb. 2004 - Hi. SPRING IS ALMOST HERE! Take a deep breath everyone. You can feel it in the air.
I'm loving Coleridge right now. Catcher in the Rye was an amazing book. If you haven't read it, I highly suggest it. It certainly brought to light so many conflicts of transcending the gap into becoming an adult.
Life is still hectic, as always. I've found another forum where I submit poetry, so I'm not here as often, but thank you to everyone who has enjoyed reading my writings. And thanks for the comments. I will still try to keep visiting. :) |
