NEWS: I've just finished my 7th semester at EIU, and I have one left before I graduate. I did not do terribly well in my classes due to an overloaded schedule and taking on more work than I could handle. I took on two reporting jobs, occupying more than three nights of my weeks. I had tennis class every day and reporting to do during the school day, often forcing me to skip some classes and try to get excused from others. Aidan stuck with me through it all, and I've still been struggling against my desire to return to raiding. I am going to Chicago on Dec. 28 for ten days to spend with my hometown childhood friends.
Real Name: Chris Walden. I am a reporter and editor for the Daily Eastern News, and as a result, also a member of the Associated Press. Feel free to ask me any questions on writing, journalism, or English. I'm studying them all here at EIU.
PQ saga is still largely unplanned and unwritten. That may change sometime after graduation, but I'll be competing with a lot of change by then. My perceived girlfriend left me after letting me know she'd been seeing another guy for three months. Then she lets me know she wants to still be friends. For now, my heart can't say no. But she's telling me to find someone else, even if our bridges aren't burned. Enough about that. I want more than anything to find love in my life, and much of my writing and stories will include some love interest, if not more. Silverheart and Bahamut won't exchange mere smiles with their women, now.
First story being worked on, is a love interest between Bahamut and Tiamat. Will be done soon. XD
I have ideas, but ideas must be written with and not always planned out, for they are naturally just ideas. "The first key to writing, is to write."
Current Ideas:
1) The Paladin Saga. The three-part intended sequel series to my original Paladin's Quest. Still meant to take place a dozen generations after PQ, It aspires to cover a variety of cultures and ethnicities running into each other in a dangerous and changing world. Silverheart, Karmis, Calcifer and others will make guest appearances.
2) The Silverson Stories. Still the intended documentation and dramatization of the D&D adventures of my Bard/Dragonsong Lyrist within the company of six other party members during our non-sequiter (sp?) campaign. Davros the paladin, Achean the cleric, Ed the minotaur fighter, James the knight, Drake the wizard savant, Tessa the knight-lady, Dale the druid, Eilari the ranger, and ALL of our cohorts participate in this Dragonlance-esque chain of adventures. I'm missing the notes from our DM since the campaign is long dead, but I fully intend to do these characters justice.
3) A Healer's Heart. Silverheart's own personal novel intended to be published in real life, as the story of a supporting figure who lives for other and rarely for himself. Few other details yet as I am trying to keep them secret except to myself.
4) Path of Shadows. The parallel novel I guess to SH's own. This would be the collection of stories about my newest dragon, Tia, that would be brought together in context of the adventures she is running with Calcifer as we speak. Can anything be defined as evil? And can those so-called evil be good at-heart or completely altruistic? I intend to break the archetypes of good and evil in this work.
5) Unnamed. Really don't know what I want to call this, if anything at all right now. It would be a dramatization of the greatest memories in Warcraft, and that would belong strongly in the fanfiction.net category. Don't know if I want to go back there just yet.
Brothers to the end, Calcifer.
