Originally your standard Final Fantasy fic author, but uhm... there's way more fanfic for FF than other good games, so I branched out and stuff to fill the gap. Much like my site, www.thenortherncrater.com - now accepting fic submissions from non-FF RPGs also!

Okay, now that I'm past that minor spam. I don't watch much anime, I don't watch many TV shows or movies, and although I like reading books, I tend not to write about them.

So what do I do? Game fanfic. That's pretty much it, really. And I don't even follow most fandoms I write for, aside from Vagrant Story and Suikoden. And, if you could consider it as having a fandom, ICO. I've read all... what... four fanfics other than my own that have been written for it?

I do still love FF fanfic when it's good, particularly if it's for older games and doesn't revolve around characters randomly having sex with each other, but so much of it simply is not interesting to me, and I can't bear to wade through the Quiefer and so on. But hey, if you've got a FFIV or FFV fic, or something about neglected characters like Barret, Cait Sith, Nida, or Raine - throw it my way, please!

I like dedicated characters - characters that have devoted themselves completely to someone or something that they care enough about to die for. I say this because I tried to figure out what my favorite characters to write all have in common... but what do Sydney, Hardin, Viktor, Gremio, and Laguna have in common? I think that's it, really - you're not going to find many other similarities between Hardin and Gremio, for instance. And also I like the eccentrics... come to think of it, that's another thing most of the above characters share. Buncha weirdos. And this means if I ever succumb to the LotR urges, I'll be writing about Sam. Yep.

I've written some yaoi, but I am not a "yaoi writer". Please don't get confused on that point.

I have a perhaps irrational hatred for fics with lyrics interspersed every few paragraphs. In some cases, the fic might be perfectly good aside from that - but the pointless interruption, as if they're trying to force background music I may or may not like or even know, makes me growl and stop reading very quickly. A little advice to songfic authors - I'm far from the only one who feels this way.

I bet I sound like a real jerk. Ah well! I also find badfic hilarious, which means I'm probably the kind of person 99% of the authors on this site hate anyway. ;) Not to mention, there are exceptions to every rule. (Find the oxymoron in that sentence!)
