A devoted slash writer. Reading and writing are my life, though I'm still forced to work a normal eight to five for now.
I read most anything, and am always willing to give something new a try. Horror, suspense, romance, fantasy, you name it I've probably read it. I'd list my favorites but man the list would go on forever. Neil Gaiman rocks, as do Douglas Clegg, Lauren Willig, Phillip Pullman, Stephen King, Tad Williams, and Julie Garwood are just to name a few. I also own far too much manga. Hopefully my house will never burn down.
I have noticed of late the amazing number of readers I have hear O_o I had no idea, seriously. I thought this place was mostly ignored.
But, uh, for those that do care, you may like to know that I write alot and update most often on my my livejournal. My website is updated periodically as well. Also for those that might care, my books are slowly being put out in print: Available here.
Bookhabit Competition Round 2
Okay, my tolerant dears ;;
Round 2 is up, and it's a bit different from Round 1. This time, you have to rank the books. At the end, the overall top 10 ranked books go on to Round 3.
Ranking and How it Works
· Users must login to rank books. If they don’t already have a login they will need to create one. You will hopefully appreciate that Bookhabit hasn’t spammed you yet and doesn’t intend to, so you can assure your friends of this too.
· Users can read two chapters for free. This means you need to send by return email your new SINGLE file of your first two chapters, by Friday this week. It must be in doc, docx or pdf format. If your book doesn’t have chapters or has exceedingly short chapters then apply common sense.
· Users then rate as many of the books as they want to. There will be 60 books in Round 2. No one is required to read all 60 books in order to rank them. Do remember the idea is for as many people as possible outside your normal circle to see your work.
· To Rank a book –
o This will become very clear when you see the screen on Monday. It is easier than it sounds when it is written down!
o Click on a single book in the list of books on the left hand side of the screen.
o You can then click on the horizontal arrow pointing right to move it across to your personal ranking list.
o Then move the book up or down to the appropriate position in your list by using the up and down arrows.
o Favourite book at the top, least favourite book at the bottom.
o To remove a book from your personal ranking list you click on it in the right hand side of the screen and click the horizontal arrow pointing left.
Scoreboard
· Will be displayed with an almost current ranking list at all times during the fortnight of ranking. There is a slight delay in rankings going up. Your ranking will not change immediately when somebody ranks your book.
