Sooooooo, I guess I should share a little about me since you've taken the time to stop by (or you accidentily stumbled upon me). Here goes:

Name: Serena, though I've been known to answer to Savanna since before I can remember.

Age: I'm on the edge of 21 and will be 21 as of the next Friday the 13th!

Sex: I'm female and rather proud of that fact 85 of the time.

Influences: I'm a born and raised sci fi/fantasty junkie, so a lot of movies and books of those genres really influence my writing and thought process. J. R. R. Tolkien is the greatest English author of the 20th century, as far as I'm concerned. His diction is absolutely beautiful and something that can't be replicated. Mark Twain is, in my opinion, the greatest American author of his time, and if you'll read "The Damned Human Race," you'll know why. Jane Austen is another author that has influenced me greatly. I've probably read "Pride & Prejudice" too many times to be considered sane ;)

As far as my musical influences are concerned, I've been on a long and winding road (through a few years lost in Pop and that boy band plague) that has finally led me to where I belong: Rock. I love Roots to Industrial, but mostly dabble in Classic, Glam and Hard and the occasional Grunge binge. David Bowie and The Eagles are my favs!

Strange that sci fi is my favorite genre, but I've never actually attempted to write it... But 2006 will see the end to that! I was hit with a massive plotbunny this morning and it simply must be written, possibly even started tonight!

Education: I'm in my third year at a community college, and don't even think about dissing community colleges, they're freakin' fantastic and perfect for getting all that general studies crap out of the way before transferring. So, there!

Hopefully this won't come as a surprise, but I'm an English major geared toward Creative Writing. I have no idea what I'm going to do with my degree once I get it, novelists don't need a college degree to novel. Meh, I'll probably become a strange college professor at some point.

ANYWAY, I'm fairly certain that I haven't updated any of my stories since 2003 (that's when I was into this site, hardcore), but I *am* revisiting them and rewriting them and making them all spiffy for your reading pleasure. Trust me, my writing style has GROWN and EVOLVED significantly since my absence from fictionpress.

Originals, in the breakdown:
Voyage of the Veritas is a work in progress; chapter two is in the process of being written, but it is taking longer than originally predicted as I'm suffering from the worst case of writer's block in the history of writer's block!! But do not fear, I will get it posted eventually, I have to, the main character hasn't even been introduced yet!

Atlantis Lost may be an unfinished story...I haven't made up my mind yet as to whether I want to add to it or not...

The Last Day may be a finished story. Plotbunnies are still active in my head on this on...I'm just not sure that I want to add to it...

Tag, You're It! is definately done! It was a pointless, one time fic. It's fun to read and will probably bring a smile to the face and lighten the heart.

Please review whatever you read (doesn't ever author on this site say that?) and tell me where you think I can improve; I'm always looking to improve what I write. Isn't that one of the reasons this site was built in the first place?
