Ghandi once said that the weak cannot forgive, forgiveness is an attribute of the strong. I believe that this is true for all peoples in all nations of all creeds, races, religions, etc. If we were all to forgive one another then our sense of community would be stronger and then our world might be a better and less bitter place. Of course, this is easier said then done, but we as a people should be striving for the best.
Lao Tsu once said that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step and this is your step into the world of my writing. But who am I and what do I write? I am Anjirika Mourii Bai commonly known as Anjirika on the web. Anjirika of course is not my real name but a pen name, a variant on what me parents called me. As to who I am, I’m twenty years old and will be turning twenty one in December ’08. I’m engaged to the most wonderful fiancée in the world and I have the most loving and kind family. As to what I write, I love to write fantasy stories mostly, though I do write the occasional supernatural/speculative fiction and romance stories. Recently however I’ve started my first real general fiction book based on the world of Figure Skating. I was sick of the lack of skating stories out there so I’m making my one. It has been in the works since March ’08 and will be in the works for the next little while.
Other stuff that you readers might want to know; I’m a total junkie for books, TV and movies. I don’t ask for a lot in any of them, while I prefer the fantasy/adventure genre, so long as the stories aren’t too gory and have a semi-descent love story thrown in there with a happy or pseudo happy ending I’ll be very happy.
As to my scholarly endeavors, summer 2008 has brought my to my very first summer class which was on the Legacy of World War I on Britain. I’m taking it to lighten my load for my fourth year which will be starting in September. My classes in the first term will be the History of Rome I along with Introduction to Pre-Historic Archaeology, with Antique and Christian Art as well as a fourth year seminar on Roman Provincial Art. These classes are all totally amazing and will hopefully provide inspiration for more musings.
Speaking of my stories, I hope that you will take the time to read and review them if you have the chance because not only do I live for reviews (sorta) but I will return the favor for I am always on the lookout for new and exciting original stories.
