You can’t wait for inspiration; you have to go after it with a club. That quote comes from Jack London and it has stuck with me ever since I heard it way back in 2004 during my Grade 12 Writer’s Craft class. I cam twenty-one years old and I’m a gal who wants nothing more to be a writer. However, I do know that being a writer doesn’t always pay the bills and therefore I am going to be the best teacher that I can be. To achieve this I am currently in Teacher’s College. The classes have been great and the Grade One class that I have been placed in is just awesome. It has been an amazing journey thus far even though it has left me with scant time to write. If you want to know more about me and my psyche then I suggest looking at my blog entitled 'A Patchwork of Tales' and this is where I state my opinion on world events, interesting things, the television shows that I watch, the books that I read and of course my writing. In terms of my writing, I love to write fantasy stories. Mostly, I write contemporary fantasy or fantasy based in the real world, but I do love high fantasy and science fiction as well even though I don’t write them very often, if at all. I am a hopeless romantic and therefore the vast majority of my stories (if not all of them) have a happy ending. To date I have completed three novels all of which are in various stages of drafting and I hope that one of these days one of them will be in a good enough state to get published. So please, take the time to read and review. I’ll return the favour because even though I don’t have the time, I am on the look out for new stories here on fpress. Other things you should know about me—I am a total television, movie and book junkie. I don’t ask a lot from any of the mediums except for a good story and a decent romance sub-plot. Generally I prefer the fantasy/action-adventure/science-fiction genre but I do like crime show like NCIS and comedies like FRIENDS and GLEE. All I need is a semi-descent love story and a happy/pseudo happy ending and the things that I watch have those two criteria. Speaking of my favourites they are as follows… My favourite Authors are: Hans Christen Andersen, Brothers Grimm, Jane Austin, Frank Beddor, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Sara Douglass, Neil Gaiman, Elizabeth Haydon, Gregory McGuire, OR Melling, Stephanie Meyer, Diana L. My favourite books are in no particular order; Pride and Prejudice, Looking Glass Wars, Mists of Avalon, Ancestors of Avalon, Ravens of Avalon, The Forest House, The Lady of Avalon, Priestess of Avalon, Rhapsody, Prophecy, Destiny, Requiem for the Sun, Elegy for a Lost Star, The Assassin King, Wicked, Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn, Alanna the First Adventure, In the Hands of the Goddess, Woman Who Rides Like A Man, Lioness Rampant, Wild Magic, Wolf-Speaker, Emperor Mage, Realms of the Gods, First Test, Page, Squire, Lady Knight, Tricker's Choice, Trickster's Queen, Sweep Series, Balefire Series, Interworld, Hunter’s Moon, Summer King, Light-Bearers Daughter and the Book of Dreams. I have too many favourite movies to list but I’d say that Star Wars and Lord of the Rings are six of my top favourites. I am also a TV junkie. I like; the 4400, Angel, the Amazing Race, American Idol, the Apprentice, Battle of the Blades, Boston Legal, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Castle, Charmed, Dancing with the Stars, Dyke Van Dyke Show, Friday Night Lights, Friends, Ghost Whisperer, Glee, Hell’s Kitchen, J.A.G, Merlin, N.C.I.S, Quantum Leap, So You Think You Can Dance, So You Think You Can Dance Canada, Stargate Atlantis, Stargate SG1, Star Wars: The Clone Wars Animated Series, ‘V’, Vampire Diaries So, that’s all that you need to know about me.
