Author has written 6 stories for Spiritual, and Sci-Fi. Hi!
Last updated: 11-09-2005 NanoWrimo 2005 is upon us, and that gives me a good reason to jump in and start a brand new novel. This year, I'm just going to write and try not to think it through too much. The novel this year is called "Artificial Awakening" and is a science fiction novel. I'll be posting what I write here as I go. Today is day 9, and I've just crossed the 20,000 word mark. 30,000 more words and 21 days left to NanoWrimo 2005. Hopefully, I... can... make... it... ~~~~~ I finally completed a full rewrite of the first book in my Chronicles of Adoran trilogy. Although I started on book two (The Spire), I plan to go back and edit book one so that I can polish it off and then submit it to a publisher before working more on book two. Thanks to everyone who left comments! It's amazing what a few words can do to encourage and I certainly appreciate that! Thanks! ~~~~~ To me, if someone sees God, for real, then they're changed. I don't care if they are a Christian or not -- it just doesn't matter. God is so much more than most of us ever really think. It's like we're all blind, only it's the Christians who go around thinking they aren't blind. Non-believers see the blindness of the Christians and they wonder why they should want that. They also see the hypocrisy and moral smugness and it turns them off. But what if our eyes could be opened? What if we could see God like he is? What if we saw our flaws in relation to who He is? What if we could learn from characters who have extraordinary trust in God, and at the same time have great shame, weakness and suffering? Even though I know some are turned off by anything that mentions God, I make no apologies. I'm not going to hide Him, or just make Him a minor part in helping characters. Instead, I'm trying to create a world that takes people to another level completely. A level where God is directly seen. Where evil and demons are very present. Where prophecy guides the characters, and yet really just confirms what they already know in their hearts. I'm trying to roll back the curtains. I'm trying to change everything. I'm trying to put real people in a conflict that is so much bigger than they are that they are like ants in a great battle, and yet what they do is still critical and still has an effect on the outcome. I'm trying to show how a BIG God calls us to a life that is so much more than anything we've ever imagined. We just need to open our eyes. And in the case of my story, God reaches through time and opens the eyes of a twelve year old girl who had no idea whatsoever what God is really like or what life is like after He opens your eyes. Nothing is like Him. And I honestly think it's time in the history of man for the eyes to be opened on a much wider scale than ever before. Really. ~~~ Favorite quotes from my stories ~~~ It was one thing to die in a dark and lonely place, it was quite another to have your mind taken from you while you are still alive. And in times like these, all of history watches what you do. Killer bugs put everything in a different perspective. | |||||||||
