Author has written 5 stories for Fantasy, and Historical.

Hi, I haven't updated this for about a million years, but thought I might as well do it now!

My name is Amy and i'm 23 (though most people tell me I look 16!) and I have just finished my Master of Arts degree in Theology at Exeter University, I am a weird hyrbid of Classics and theology graduate and half the time I haven't got the foggiest whats going on around me!

I am going into teacher training in September, so these are my last few months of freedom before I am inundated with lots of planning and marking and no time to write anymore :( Though I daresay I will find the time, its like an addiction I can't seem to stop! But then again who would want to?!

I first came onto fictionpress as a longtime lurker and loved reading the stories, so decided to write my own as I love writing, trouble is I can never seem to find the time time to write creatively anymore and it really bugs me so here I am and I am going to make a fresh start with a rewrite of a story I started so long ago that I cringe when i re-read the ramblings of my 18 year old self.

Anyhoo, before I start rambling about my weird stories, heres a little about myself!

Name: Amy, Queen of the Amazon, Miss Clumsy

Age: 23, though ranges from 14-21 dependant on who is asking for my ID!

Occupation: Soon to be trainee teacher, but at the moment I slot rather nicely into the slacker category. Hopefully going to do a PhD in a few years!

Languages: Latin and Ancient Greek, excellent if I plan on joining the church or inventing a time machine.

Hobbies: Reading, reading, reading also writing, history, swimming, tae-kwon do, worrying, annoying my boyfriend, playing my DS (especially Hotel Dusk), going to festivals and gigs when I have access to money (rarely), drinking tea, eating chocolate, general stuff that any 23 year old would do!

Favourite music: Indie, Alternative Rock, Punk and yes, Emo!

Favourite bands: Muse are my ultimate number 1 band, Maximo Park, Klaxons, Kings of Leon, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, We are Scientists, Pigeon Detectives, Chilli Peppers, 30 Seconds to Mars, Panic! At the Disco, the Killers, Kaiser Chiefs, Razorlight, Gossip, Libertines et al.

Favourite Books: Gone with the Wind, Katherine, Wild Swans, Illiad, anything from ancient writers, all historical fiction, Anna Karenina, Crime and Punishment, I Claudius, Jane Eyre, everything by Austen, anything my Marion Zimmer Bradley, anything by Elizabeth Chadwick, I love all books and will read anything from biographies to chick lit, The Midnight Children, Life of Pi, I have a particular weakness for biographical works concerning womens issues and history and will avidly consume anything I can get my hands on!

Favourite Poems: Eve of St. Agnes, Ode to Psyche, Illiad, La Belle Dame Sans Merci, Lady Clare de Vere, Divine Comedy.

Favourite painters: I am a pre-raphaelitephile, love them, but my favourite painters are J.W.Waterhouse, Edmund Blair Leighton and Arthur Hughes.

Literary Hero: Too easy Rhett Butler! and Achilles (everyone loves a tragic hero)

Literary Heroine: Scarlett O' Hara, Katherine, Jane Eyre, Medea, Circe, Clytemnestra, Psyche.

Favourite Poet: Keats, though Catullus and Tennyson come a close second.

Favourite colour: Easy! Turquoise!

Tea or Coffee: Tea!!

Places I want to visit: Egypt, Iran, Greece, USA especially the South, China, Japan, Israel.

Historical weakness: Middle Ages and Biblical history!

Historical places I want to visit: Jerusalem, Perseopolis, Petra, Karnak, Rome (again), Athens, Xi'an, Beijing, Kyoto.

Number of stupid surveys made up today: 1

Ok i'll shut it :) Can't think of any more stupid questions to ask myself, if anyone else can think of some, please email me!!

My stories

Ok here are the stories I started a LONG time ago!

Motl (Maidens of the Light)- This has always been my pet, I started it ages ago and then gave up at chapter 38 when I realised it wasn't going anywhere! Still I am rewriting it and i'll keep it up here if you want to see my original opus! Be warned though, it rambles and I have made some terrible typos! Im going to post my re-write up on fp and hopefully its a lot better, made some major changes to the story.

The Slave of Syria- This is bugging me, its a good concept, but I don't know where its going, any advice will be greatly appreciated!

The Kings Rose- I love this story!! And I think people liked it too, I have chapter 5 done, so i'll post it up. Take a look if you want and please review! I really need all the help I can get with this, I have ground to a halt on this one as well! I need an imagination transplant!

Madeleine and Porphyro- Inspired by the Keats poem "The Eve of St. Agnes", 1 chapter and I might carry on with it if i am inspired!

Rewrite without a name- I can't think of a name for it! So please read the first few chapters and email me some good names! I am terrible at names! This is a rewrite of Maidens of the Light, but that name sounds more like a hair care range than a story title, so leave me your ideas and feedback!

Project 1- Ah top secret!

Cheerio! Thanks for reading, and all comments and reviews are greatly appreciated! :)
