A little intro, mayhap? I'm a generation X girl, living in Sweden
(Europe). Online I go by the nicks 'sea', 'Meerchen' and 'Sosaidh
Eilis'. I've been a yaoi fangirl since '96, when I discovered the
wonderful world of fanfiction. I've written fiction since '99, and
still consider myself a newbie. My grasp of the English language is not
what I want it to be, and grammar was something I ignored in school. I
wouldn't know how to pick out a subject in a sentence even if someone
gave me a million dollars to do it. ^_^; I'm still learning, though.
One day I'll figure out the difference between regular English and
formal English. To me, it's just... English. I don't see the difference
at all. Maybe because I never hear spoken English other than on TV.
Saturday lovers is the first multi chapter fic I have ever written, and
sometimes I wonder if I have the guts to actually finish it... Writing
this fic is mostly therapy to me. I experience the emotions and
emotional growth the characters experience, which makes it both
difficult and easy to write.
I usually write about what scares me, because it's also what fascinates
me. My fics tends to contain fair amounts of either war, drugs, (child)
abuse, male prostitution or girlie boys. Sometimes all of it at once.
To me, these difficult topics are like a mosquito bite you can't stop
scratching...
Fics I like to read: original yaoi/slash stories featuring male
prostitution, hurt/comfort, angst, boys in girl clothes, tied up boys,
fics exploring consent issues, angst and abuse. (Send me your
recommendations!)
Fics I rarely read: Fantasy (Tolkien being the only exception), vampire fics (hate 'em), fics with too many female characters...
