If you want to have a chat about one of my poems. See potential in it, yell at me at the horrible trash that I had the gall of posting, you can reach me there.

Post Note: Okay, for much of the poetry out there ... I'm noticing that ... well, unless it rhymes, no one can really understand the poem.

Alot of my recent poetry has been influenced by free prose poets, like Rita Dove in some occasions Li - Young Lee and so forth.

I like to write in story telling ... but also leave symbols. So every detail, picture, situation that I write about isn't just what its written. Their are connotative meanings. This SOUNDS elementary but ... this really needs to be taken into account.

I was reading a review for another writer's poem. Excellent poem, excellent subject, GREAT use of words and imagery ... then upon reading the reviews of put upon by people, i couldn't help but notice the sparcity of it and the varying interpretations.

But there were many clues that suggested what the poem was about. Many have become used to reading poetry that are autobiographical, or thereapeutic. And in many cases, there are. It just saddens me that, so much poetry isn't enjoyed to its fullest.

I read a poem a few months ago. It was written in poetry format but in story telling form. I couldn't tell heads or tails of it because its length intimidated me. Coming back to it the next day, I finally understood it. It was a thought provoking idea and I had to show my appreciation to the author.

This kind of poetry is the kind that I look for. I've found quite a few and I've strived to find them and place them in my favorite's page.

Basically, my point is, many fictionpress (or some author) could post a column of recommendations? There's alot of poetry out there, and I really hate wasting my time and cringing at mispelling, overly flowered language, and cliche'd lines.

I'm up to post something like this. If anyone wants to help feel free to email me/contact me.

I need help because, there are quite alot of subjects, and a rec every (month, week, etc) would constitute as a lot of work.

Anywho, if you love poetry and love reading other people's poetry ... come help!

Thanks.

P.s. Yes, I'm aware half of this message was a rant...
