Most writers do a lot of reading. I don't like to read, it hurts my eyes. I watch a lot of movies instead. When I do read, I alternate between Stephen King and "chick lit." It's an odd combination, but I think they balance each other out nicely.

I write short stories because novels take too long. You can read one of my stories in its entirety while on the train on your way to work, and chances are that's where I wrote it.
