Okay, so my profile was becoming waaaay too long and cumbersome... I'd be shocked if anyone even read it, so I figured I'd delete the whole thing and start over.
Hi, and welcome to my page. I've been creating stories since before I can remember, I've been putting them to paper since about 7th grade, which was about ten years ago or so, and now have a degree in English, writing empasis, and Philosophy (hence the paper I posted on AI and The Matrix).
I'm currently editing Clan of Misfits: The Twins' Awakening so I can send it to a publisher. I'm currently editing it and posting it behind the first version, cause we're not allowed to post the same book twice. And because the edit is going to be so different, I'm putting my plans of writing the sequel in November for Nanowrimo on hold. I will be doing another project instead (see my notes below about Zephyr), which I am hoping to post at some point, probably when I do the edit of it later, but we'll see if I can hold out that long :) (I'm Mya von Dor on the nanowrimo website, too, if anyone cares :D) And yes, the first edit was intentionally "short" because I wanted it to be the length of a published novel, unlike some of my others around here that are long enough to fill three or more published works... though that might change with the edit, though I hope not :)
Um... what else? The novel I spoke of that I will be writing in November will be about a 19 year old, senior in high school, half gargoyle named Zephyr, who lives in Seattle and helps the cops fight crime in his free time. I'm still working on some of the logistics of some of that... mostly trying to flesh out some of the characters a bit, so you might see a few things around that universe cropping up occasionally. And the novel will be showing up at some future point.
Oh! I've started taking lunch at work to write, which I'm hoping to use to finish What if Destiny is Real? which is a great story, and deserves to be finished. The novel is a re-write of a fanfic I wrote waaaay back in the beginning of my writing career, though you'd never know it by looking at it :D So if you're wondering how a Redwall fanfic turns into an original novel, send me a post and I'll explain it, but it would take waaaay too long to explain here... :)
So... is there anything else? Let's see... well, I will be posting something every week though if things go the way they have been, I might have to change my posting date. But whatever happens, my updates will average one a week, even if I have to post three in one week to do it. :) If I do decide to change my date, I will post it here to let everyone know.
But back to the note about sequels... I'm still debating weither or not I'm going to write a seqel to What if Dragons are Real?. Scarry thing is, I have one in my head, but I don't know how much some of you will enjoy it... at least the beginning. I have this habbit of writing sequels no one expects... but don't worry, it's definitely not going to be any sort of rehash of the first or anything... I'm actually dropping in plot points, of a sort, for the second into the first, even though the next one is going to pick up quite some time later. I don't even know if I should be admitting to any of this, I don't know if I'll even want to write it by the time I'm done with #1, cause I'm already, what, almost four years into it? That's the longest I've ever taken to finish one book, even if it is epic in length. So don't get your hopes up too much, either way. I guess we'll find out what happens when it happens, and I've still got quite a bit of plot for this one to go, too. If you think I'm done with the plot twists, just wait and see what's coming next... it's going to be fun :D
But...holy crap... has it really been a year since I updated A Day in the Life of... (which is now Random Equipment because I like the title better)? I'm going to have to fix that!!! Man... how time flies...
