Author has written 5 stories for Fantasy.

"I will stand or I will fall. I will not sit." - Largo from Megatokyo

UPDATE: -Flash flash flash-

March 27th - Breaking Reality - Chapter 4
April 9th - Dragonblade - Chapter 13
May 25 - Infused Magic - Chapter 17

Announcement: So. Long explanation short. I went through a period of bad depression. Starting to recover now. Writing will slowly return. The character voices are back in my head after so long of being silent. Yeah, this happens every once in a while.

"As an adult, you do what you have to do, and everything else is just excuses." - my mom

Hi.

Age: 19
Gender: Female
Education: College - Music Major

When I read something, I look at the characters and whether I connect to them or not; plot has its place and its importance (it's what keeps the story moving along after all), but I think it's the emotion that gets people liking the book because you have to like the characters to really care what's going on with them. Also, I really like to introduce songs and music into my stories. I even write little theme songs for the characters! (but they're -meh- so I don't share)

MY WORKS

--Not In A Series--

Breaking Reality - a humor story written from "my" point of view; deals with the "what if" idea of my characters crossing over to my world; it goes off well among my friends, but I'm not too sure if it's interesting enough for the general public; call this a little experiment, if you will

Updating Schedule: Tuesday/Thursday (either/or not both)

Fantasy usually works like this: kid wants to be hero. Kid discovers he can be hero. Kid changes mind and hates being hero. My story is this: I want to be hero. I can be hero. I will be hero. No angst feelings allowed.

Instead of falling into a fantasy world and having to confront a prophecy that says I must defeat the evil Dark Lord, my characters from my imagination have crossed the line and fallen into my world, having to confront the problems of technology. Now it’s just a matter of getting them back without killing too many people in the process.

--Not In A Series--

A Thief's Tale - a random piece written from the point of view of my favorite D&D character. The main character's name is Kelch because I like to use my character names in every game I play, and I wanted to play a rogue and Kelch fit in very nicely. Go figure.

Updating Schedule: Not on any particular updating schedule (sorry - it's very much a write-when-I-feel-like-it)

Parents died in a fire when he was young. His human uncle took him in. Twist number one: His uncle is a member of the Thieves' Guild. So he is bred around thieves, and learns that he was born with quite the odd urge to steal things. Then he goes adventuring. The urge grows and shifts into something more, something deadly. Twist number two: He begins to have the urge...to kill. Adventuring did many things to him. When he is captured after a killing, a familiar looking stranger comes to hear his tale. This is what is told. Whether it's the truth...well...that's up to you.

--Chronicles of Avairean:--

-Dragonblade- Challenge to self: put your favorite fantasy cliches into one big mess of a story and try to pull out something interesting, semi-original at least, with a cast of memorable characters, and a plot with twists in every direction; make the ending the greatest shock ever; make the characters as realistic as possible; don't fall into the trap of either perfect hero or always-failing hero.
So, that's the challenge.
What have I done with it? The characters have kind of taken over. As soon as I stab one as a minor character, he decides to waltz all over my outline and proclaim that he will NOT be doing what I want him to. Ah well. I'll shake my fist at him but sigh and let him speak. Every character has a voice, and I try really hard not to muffle them. Though...sometimes...

Updating Schedule: Mondays/Fridays

Baxorth, Wulfcon demi-god just looking out for his people. Amandil, Draiken with a mysterious power that could solve this problem...if he wanted to. And that's just the beginning.

Infused Magic - back story of one of the minor characters - NaNoWriMo 2007 project -

Updating Schedule: Editing Process

Year - 9657 - Magi or Samurai. The two respected arts of Catrek society. Daiyomon was not born with an Essence; he could not be a mage, so he trained to be samurai. Then he was kidnapped by a crazy sorcerer, who should not have been alive, and everything changed...

QUOTE TIME!

Author Quotes:

"People have a right to decide what their children read, but I don't think they have a right to decide what other people's children read."
"Children are very smart. This is a fantasy world in which they totally immerse themselves and enjoy. Then they put the book down and go back to real life."
"I wrote these books for me. I wrote what I wanted to read and what I thought I would have liked to read when I was younger." --J.K.Rowling

"Even in literature and art, no man who bothers about originality will ever be original: whereas if you simply try to tell the truth (without caring twopence how often it has been told before) you will, nine times out of ten, become original without ever having noticed it."
"Reason is the natural order of truth; but imagination is the organ of meaning."
"You don't have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body."
--C.S.Lewis

"That's what writing is all about, after all, making others see what you have put down on the page and believing that it does, or could, exist and you want to go there."
"Make no judgements where you have no compassion."
--Anne McCaffrey

Dragonlance Quotes:

"Don't change color to match the walls. Look like you belong and the walls will change color to match you." - Kender proverb

"Hope is the denial of reality. It is the carrot dangled before the draft horse to keep him plodding along in a vain attempt to reach it."
"If I am to be judged by those who come after me, let me be judged by the truth."
--Raistlin

"I've often found, though, that deserving and happening don't always necessarily go together."
"He said kender were small because we were meant to do the small things. 'If you look at all the big things in the world closely,' he said, 'you'll see that they're really made up of small things all joined together.' It's the small things that make the difference. We'll do the small thing, even if it doesn't seem very important."
"How are you going to find out anything if you're not curious?"
"That's what's important - the trying and the hoping. I guess that's most important of all."
--Tas

"People want to believe in something-even if they know it is false." - Tanis

"We raise our children to leave us." - Caramon

"Yet without the darkness, we would never be aware that the stars exist." - Palin

Funny Quotes:

"I'll bite your legs off!"
"1...2...5!" "3 sir!" "3!"
"'What is...your favorite color?' Blue...No wait! Ahhh...'"
--Monty Python and the Search for the Holy Grail.

"Suck my disc drive!" --friend

"Hey, Raistlin, can you whoosh me somewhere?" --Dragonlance Legends Trilogy - Time of the Twins (lolz whoosh...kinda inside joke there)

"I lost the Dragonblade!" - Kelch (from an RP)

"A resto druid and a feral druid walk into a playground. The kids see the resto druid and run. The feral druid asks "Why did they run from you?" The resto druid replies, "They thought I was a priest." -- joke my fiance' told me when we were still just friends.

"Procrastinators UNITE!! ... ... tomorrow." --from a shirt

"Let's do some minors...oh that doesn't sound good...especially if I were in Congress."
"Here's what I would do if I were me."
--Music Theory teacher

"God put a plague on our house and turned our toilet water BLUE!!"
"Computers...are...morons."
"Chicken isn't meat. It's chicken! People don't say 'it tastes like meat' they say 'it tastes like chicken.'"
--my brother

"Oh, yeah, and watch this pipe. It's a bit deceiving."
(loud bursts of laughter as all of a sudden we lose a nice bunch of people to the fishes in the waters of SSC)
"I warned you..."
--my fiance to our guild in our first venture into the SSC dungeon

"Okay, so, I'm going to show how to jump in the water and survive. I'll be water-hopping to the pipe over there. Watch closely." - says my fiance
(he jumps in, and dies about 5 seconds in)
"EPIC FAIL!" - says me
"Erm, yeah, don't do it like that." - says my fiance
--and so began one of the best 15-man SSC raids ever

On Reviews:

-I once said "if you review me, I will review you," but I was too lazy to follow it, and school and work and love life and...WoW...kind of stole my time. Starting today, December 06, 2007, I plan to follow this policy again.

-Constructive Criticism is welcome just please don't bite my head off; it makes it really hard to reply nicely and with many thanks. Some people just get really agitated at being spoken to rudely, or as if they weren't worth anything...I mean, a lot of people can smile and look beyond the harshness, but I'm one that finds it really hard to do that...especially on the internet for some reason.

-Random praises are nice.

-When I review, I like to quote my favorite lines and such, as well as point out CC items - though I spend more time on 'well written' 'word it better' than 'heart of the story' criticism. A friend once pointed out, "How can you understand what they're trying to say with one chapter? What if there's an underlying meaning in there that you don't understand until you get to the end?" To counter that, you may have an underlying reason for whatever-oddity-you're-trying-to-pull-off, but other readers and authors may be able to point out a better way to execute what you're trying to do. It may not be a bad idea, just a bad execution. Try to keep this mind when both writing and reading, and look harder between the lines. You may be surprised at what you find there.

-Please don't ask me to review you; if you have many stories, I will pick and choose unless you say "oh and I would prefer you to look at (insert story title here)" or something along those lines. Please no "omgurstoryisawesome plz review me kkthx" or anything similar. It just makes me feel like you're looking for high review numbers and nothing that really counts.

-Cheers, mate!

Something Random:

Life is the greatest gift. What you do with it is the greatest choice.
See, clarinets have an excuse when we mess up: it's always a bad reed.
My dream was a musical. Everyone was singing and dancing, even though it was a semi-normal day. It was awesome!
What are my interests? Writing, music, art...In short, magic in this world.
