Author has written 12 stories for Life, Religion, Fable, Love, Humor, Fantasy, and Essay. NEWS UPDATE (11/25/09): I have recently posted some written essays. I know they seem amazingly short, but I can't exactly blame that on them being written in paper and pen initially (I scribble very, very rapidly) but rather just because I've done the best that I could with the time limit. Also I've updated my Current Projects section to include some info about some poetry that I am working on. I am sort of hesitate to post my poetry on here, because poetry is so easily plagiarized, and also because I can only seem to produce excellent poetry in rare moments. However, as I've sort of evolved in my songwriting I've been learning to incorporate things beyond just plain old meter and rhyme, and including concepts like personification and alliteration and all of that fun. Obviously my original story Day's Journey has the highest priority for me right now, so don't think that my posting anything else is taking away from the time that I have to work on Day's Journey, because that's just not the case. NEWS UPDATE (11/21/09): I replaced the content for Day's Journey chapter two. But no worries- nothing major is different. I just corrected the error with the chapter title not being printed in bold. I can be pretty picky like that. ~Profile Revamp 10/28/09~ Birthdate: September 25, 1990. Religion: Christian My pen-name gip-k stands (not pronounced jip-k as some tend to do) for Girl In Purple Kimono. As far as I know no one else has it, so all the gip-k's that you see running around on other sites are actually still me. I've been writing since I was about seven years old. Carolyn Keene was my greatest inspiration for wanting to be a writer. The books that I really liked to read as a younger child were Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, Babysitter's Club, Boxcar Children, and Choose Your Own Adventure. I also used to read Tom Swift and Animorphs.I remember that going to the library was a treasured adventure for me in those days. As I got older, I moved on to fantasy books like The Wheel of Time Series. I also liked to read Christian Fiction like Keepers of the Ring Series, by Angela Elwell Hunt and some of Beverly Lewis's stories that focused on Amish communities. I also read books by Francis Rivers. I loved her Mark of the Lion Trilogy so much that I had to purchase it for myself. It sits on its proud space on my bookshelf to this day. I'm not sure if I'm still going to pursue a career in writing, but it's definitely something that I still enjoy doing. I've been known to keep journals occasionally, and I write lyrics as well as short stories. I started off writing fanfiction when I was about twelve years old, but I've decided to just focus on original fiction more these days. Link to My Fanfiction.net Profile Current Projects: 11/25/09- I'm now working on some poetry to be uploaded. I have one in particular that I am working on right now, which is sort of about living things in life only from a distance and how that can sort of affect you. The title of it is still up in the air. 11/21/09- I am currently working on an original fiction called Day's Journey. The story is updated on a weekly basis- every Saturday. | |||||||||
