Author has written 28 stories for Religion, Life, General, Love, Song, Action, Haiku, Young Adult, General, and Sci-Fi.

My name is Darthen

An old fictionpress user. Twenty year old senior at the University of North Texas. I graduate next December. My major is Radio, Television and Film with a minor in German.

I started a website to serve my old stomping grounds here. It is an e-zine/blog with links to good fictionpress stories. I look for the best so you don't have to! To submit, go to the website at

Actionzine.webs.com

My favorite authors, and the ones I sort of study to learn how to write, are Ray Bradbury and Edgar Allen Poe.

Favorite filmmaker : Quentin Tarantino (who else?) Pulp Fiction for the win!

I always pay back reviews. Always. If you have reviewed something of mine and I have not payed you back the review, just send me an e-mail or something, I probably forgot.

One more thing, NO MORE CHILDREN SAVING THE WORLD!! Just please, for dear god's sake, no more. It's been done to death and it isn't even a plausible story. NO MORE, please!! Dear god, stop! Elemental stories have been popping up recently as well; I've got nothing against those excepting the fact that it's always children. I have some advice; unless it's original in any way, don't write it. Just stop, add 10 years to the character’s age, add some sort of sage wise man and add an evil villain with a grudge. There, now you have a formulaic myth. Now, kill off someone's parents/family/wife/girlfriend. Then kill off one or more of the main characters. Now add some more plot twists. It won't be any more original, but at least it adds depth to a flat story. Oh yeah, and NO MORE CHILDREN SAVING THE WORLD.

Here's a general rule: Old enough to drink, old enough to save the world.

Upcoming Projects:

Cutthroat: TLB Chapter 16 (is up now!)- Its been a while since I thought about writing again, summer has been insane so far for me, but I finally found time in my days to write, yay. So chapter sixteen is going to be pretty cool. I mean The Apocalypse has whole new mess of problems now, doesn't he. Or maybe it's just the one. But he isn't the type to greive silently, is he?

Cutthroat: Anthologies Half Jack - This short one shot chronicles an adventure of our late friend Nanashi as he confronts his past and his Hermaphroditism. His biological father has pissed off his adoptive one and Nanashi is out for blood.

Space Pirate Jacob update: it is now Sean Lumbard: Space Pirate what can I say, I love the Irish) - The galaxies youngest and most renowned pirate has made a deal with the amphibious Cretorans but getting involved in their civil war and in trouble with the Human's empire causes him big problems. Dealing with the handicap of having one eye and romantic issues galore the man is living by the skin of his teeth.

God Listens to Trance - Spin off of my short story The Atheist, and we find our good pal Vince has survived his ordeal, or did he? He finds himself visited by Demons and Angels and it turns out that God is not happy with him at all. Whoops. Can Vince save his friends and his soul or will he succumb to the darkness
