Author has written 2 stories for Romance.

Faggoty is a "snotty" elitist--meaning that she usually enjoys finding the intelligence in a particular fandom, or the best of a particular thing--and then she cleaves to it. Bad music (top 40 radio), bad literature, bad fanfiction, bad film, bad food, and general dumb-assed-ness are guaranteed to send her from zero to fucking crazy bitch in .000654 seconds flat. And that ain't no shit. She is too opinionated at times, but she doesn't force her opinions on others. She is Puerto-Rican and Cuban, so at least one of her character's tend to be as such. She has some sort of strange affinity for anime, movies, video games, obscure music, staying tan, staying fit and books. Ed Westwick, Daniel Craig, and Benjamin McKenzie are her dream men. Olga Kurylenko, Milla Jovovich, Rihanna and Angelina Jolie are her fem-crushes.

Well first of all, despite what the avatar may say, I'm a girl. And I have a full time job, meaning precious little free time to play video games, draw, read, write, or actually interact with other people. It makes actually accomplishing anything meaningful a bit more difficult, but such is life.

As a writer, I have a tendency to not post anything until the story is complete, because I don't really have the time to write regularly. And we all know how frustrating it is to have a nice story be discontinued. Not that I have any confidence in my writing skills. I usually only launch a project if I can't find what I'm looking for in the body of work that's already been published, and frequently I find that my story's already been told. Of course, the problem with waiting to publish until my story is complete... is that between the time that I start and the time that I publish, a story similar to mine will be posted. At which point I quietly tuck away my story and never allow it to see the light of day. Not the most productive method of writing... but I'm generally just looking to enjoy a great story. Whether it's mine or someone else's makes no difference.

faggoty's Rantings on Love Scenes

Romances. Whether they're of epic proportions between heroes and saviors, or just two ordinary people with chemistry; if done correctly, I love them. Nothing draws me in more than watching a bond grow between a man and a woman (or a woman and woman/man and man), and if I can imagine myself in the woman's shoes, all the better. But the culmination of such stories can vary.

At what point is a sense of resolution achieved? A kiss? A declaration of love? A romp in the hay? It depends on the type of characters, but a kiss generally leaves behind expectations for more. As for love and lust, you generally can't have one without the other. A vow of love needs to be consummated, and after a night of passion, if the characters shake hands and go their separate ways afterwords then it hardly qualifies as a romance.

Such is the nature of good and bad love scenes. It's possible to have R-rated material without having it degrade into smut. Essentially, if it's warranted, (that is, the characters have been spiraling toward a point of culmination) then I feel that a certain level of intimacy is in order. But all too many stories seem to have their subjects jumping each other out of uncontrollable urges, no matter how out of character it may be. In this sense, it is basically smut.

There isn't anything wrong with smut, but a love scene packs a much more powerful punch when we know why the characters have those uncontrollable urges. Overpowering raw chemistry? Then what sends them over the edge? Complete and undying love? Then what prompted such strong emotions? Perhaps the climax of the story is the most interesting part, the part we have all been waiting for. But without the valleys, there are no mountains, and without the story, there is no climax.

After all, isn't it for the love of the climax that smut exists anyway?

faggoty Is a Fan Of

Exploitation Films are my favorite, so, of course I love stories that are like such. Especially when it is written in extreme detail and well-written characters, nothing makes me happier. My favorites would have to be Nunsploitation (featuring nuns in dangerous or erotic situations), Vigilante stories (in which a person violates the law to exact justice),Teensploitation(the exploitation of teenagers by the producers of teen-oriented films, with plots involving drugs, sex, alcohol and crime), Biker tales (stories that portrays its characters as motorcycle riding rebels), Woman in Prison (primarily voyeuristic sexual fantasies about prison life that rely on heavy doses of nudity, lesbianism, sexual assault, humiliation, sadism, and rebellion among captive women), Zombie tales (uh... duh?), Rape and revenge (in which a woman is raped, left for dead, recovers and then subsequently extracts a typically graphic, gory revenge against the person/persons who raped her) and Chambara (revisionist, non-traditional samurai tales).

All of them, of course, with a smudge of romance as that is also what I look for in a story/movie/anything that has a storyline to it.

Nonlinear stories are fun to me, since the writer has to leave little details within chapters for you to piece when this is happening. If they do or don't have aestheticization of violence isn't really an issue to me, (though, as you can see, I am a huge fan), I mainly focus on stories that are well-written, descriptive, original, and most times, don't have many reviews because of it (which is sad).

When it's not written in a cliche fashion, people tend to look the other way. Not that I don't mind cliche... I'm just tired of it. Unusual stories/characters/things are fun, you should give it a try sometime. :)
