Author has written 47 stories for Friendship, Nature, General, Life, Fantasy, Love, School, Haiku, and Humor. Um... uh... you know what I hate about these little Bio thingies? You never know how to start them off. I have decided that in this newer version of my Bio… I will not rant ^_^ Name: Amy Age: 14 (October of ’89) Brief description of each poem (starting with the first one I submitted): A Sarcastic Thanks (recommended): Along with ‘Not My Last Goodbye’ and ‘Hear Me Out,’ this poem was written for a certain friend who I had some particularly rough times with. It is an angry poem, but is one of my favorites. A Storm in the Meadow: A sestina written for English 8+. It’s about before and after a storm in a meadow, pretty basic with excellent description. I have a thing for writing about nature. Back Down: This poem is about independence (the personal kind). It is free verse, a somewhat generic feeling once you get to a certain age. If you like it, read as well ‘Over Your Shoulder’ and ‘Back Down.’ Beyond the Sky: The night sky and all its marvels… what a wonderful thing to write about. Notice my spellings of ‘I’ and ‘eye’ in the last verse. If you like this, read also ‘Dreamer.’ Broken: Interesting rhyming scheme; it is a fairly forceful poem if you take it the correct way. Surprisingly optimistic for the title. Come Out: A poem written for two-faced or shy people. Not my personal favorite, but it’s still pretty good. Cry a River of Tears (recommended): One of my first poems and it has been revised many times. I finally came up with this version of it, and many people like this one above the others. Surprising fact (for most): this poem was written about a friend. Not a boyfriend, not a lost love… a friend. A good friend that I lost a long time ago. Dreamer: I am always somewhere else, dreaming up fantasies (not the bad kind) and lost in my mind. It’s my special place, and here is my poem about it. If you like it, read also ‘Beyond the Sky.’ Lost (recommended): There are actually two poems here from two points of view. The second one is more of my point of view. Very good poems in my opinion, I’m proud of them both. Love: Ah the sweet poem of love. The many ways it works, for better and worse. Here is my opinion on the opposing topic. Another one of the first poems I wrote and another one many peoples favorites. My School Day: Isn’t it obvious? Do I really need to tell you what THIS poem is about? First semester 8th grade. Note the last verse. Not my Last Goodbye: A poem to a friend how things may not be working out, but even if we are no longer friends I will still be there. Sometimes I’m way too optimistic… This poem goes along with ‘A Sarcastic Thanks,’ and ‘Hear me Out.’ Sail Away: No, I’ve never been to the ocean… but this is still a very good poem! MB’s favorite, and one I particularly like. Smell the Roses: Life is hard, roses are sweet. Not my favorite, but a very good poem in my opinion. It’s just not optimistic enough! :’( The Robin: Can a haiku have more than one verse? Well this one does. It’s for English 8+. The Tunnel: More optimisticism!!! WOOOO!!!! That isn’t even a WORD!!! It’s a poem about the journey of breaking up with someone. Watch Your Back: It’s a don’t-push-me-or-I’ll-hunt-you-down-like-a-wounded-deer-in-the-middle-of-hunting-season poem. If you enjoy it, read also ‘Back Down’ and ‘Over Your Shoulder.’ When You Were Here: I got a little too into my old fanfic, and had a little fun torturing a character by taking away her love .> Does that make me a bad person…? Why: Another one of my earlier poems; one that I personally like. I wrote it as a song originally. Labyrinth: This poem is a free style about not being yourself or accepting who you are and trying to change it. Elements: Four poems about the elements- fire, water, wind and earth. Email me if you would like to take the test to figure out what your element is. So far, everyone has been satisfied with their answers so I guess I did a good job of putting the poems, pictures and test all together. Ever Just: This is a poem for those who take simple things for granted. To sum it up: Stop and listen, hear, feel, see and smell. First Frost of the Season: I wrote this on October 2nd, it is almost the same time of year again for me to go outside and watch this whole show over again. It’s about the first frost coming, and weighing down the leaves, making them all fall to the ground. Basically a poem about fall. God’s Breath: A poem pretty much about wind and its powers. Hear Me Out (recommended): A true poem a little bit out of anger but still shows my optimism. It was written along with ‘A Sarcastic Thanks’ and ‘Not My Last Goodbye’ Without (recommended): My mom likes this poem (and so does everyone she emailed it to) as do I. Pay attention to the last two lines, they string the whole poem together. You’re There: I guess it’s my more optimistic version of ‘When You Were Here,’ A good poem, and touching if you let it get to you. Ode to Ferrets: Dedicated to *drumroll* the reviews to half of my poems that read ‘This poem could use some ferrets, yesiree bob!’ An amusing poem, most likely more insulting to ferrets than loving. Mistakes (recommended): This is a poem about a vague idea I have had in my head that I eventually pieced out in words in sonnet form. Sonnets are a little more difficult to write, but I find that the results don’t even compare to my other work. Life: My shortest poem. I have considered making it longer but then I would take away from this verse. Fear: Once again one of my earlier poems. One of my friends liked this one a lot, and wanted to turn it into a song. My other friend wrote a song for him five times better than this and he turned it down! He was such a jerk about it too. Anyways, it is a poem about how some people scare easier than others. Ferret Heaven: Poor little ferret chunks! This poem is dedicated to Gus, a loving old deaf ferret that passed away… :’( Invisible (recommended): This is one of my personal favorites, a sonnet again. I don’t know quite what to say about it… My Voice: Wow… this is a LONG poem. I have a shorter version; I should probably type that up. It is definitely one of my best if you have the patience to read it. Winter’s Downfall: Alas! It is spring! And there is your description XP Rules: A short poem comparing ants to rules; true and sad and funny all at the same time. Helping Hand: A poem written to a certain friend… saying that I will be there if you need me, and I won’t turn away. Almost Forgot: Oops! I got too into my story again! This poem is based on another character that I can’t help but torture. After it Rains: Another sonnet, based on another poem. I just hope the person I wrote it for liked it. More optimisticism! Ode to Pooper Scooper: I wrote this after a large bout of writer’s block. I made a dust bin in my tech ed and I use it to clean out my guinea pig cage… an amusing poem. Saying No to Drugs: This was for health, a pretty funny poem about how messed up things can get if you do drugs. My friend and I both wrote it together. If I Only Had a Life (recommended): To the tune of ‘If I Only Had a Brain’ from the wizard of oz, this poem sums up my life… It’s one of my favorites because it is so funny! Shattered Pride (recommended): You have to really look deep into this poem, but it is again one of my favorites and one of my best. Stalker: I will claim to be someone’s stalker as a joke… it’s funny! But when someone is stalking you, and it is no joke… it’s scary. Over Your Shoulder: Shinco (who reviews ALL my poems, ty) liked this one O_o, it goes along with ‘Back Down’ and ‘Watch Your Back’ | |||||||
