Author has written 14 stories for General, Life, Fantasy, Spiritual, and Horror. Well, when I started posting on this web-site I was a twenty-three year old (due 11-12-80, born 10-6-80) struggling college student, a Secondary Ed student; now I am a published, struggling twenty-three year old college student. My first novel, Mist of Olus: Legends of the Living Realms is no long availible as it was dropped.Sorry :-( Also, I have recently began submitting work to Speculative Fiction Centre @ http://www.speculativefictioncentre.com/derrickedgarjames.htm
I've always had a vivid imagination so, I am hoping to share that imagination with the world. My life is a study in contrast, this contrast sometimes finds its way into my work. I've always considered myself an outcast and a semi-goth yet, now I find myself dating a semi-prep (who also posts on this site under the name Maeghan Jade). About eight years ago('96), I found GOD through Jesus Christ. Before that, I was into some pretty dark stuff, though I will not go into detail here. The point is that Darkness and Light tend to contrast in my work. I consider myself a realist. Good does not win every battle (just the war) and being Good, Upright, and/or Just, does not guarantee immunity from pain, suffering, and loss. In short, bad things happen to good people, and so sometimes, this happens in my fiction. For any of those who might have noticed, I changed my e-mail address. My inbox for the other address was so cluttered that I felt it necessary to have an account just for my writings. I am currently working on astory called The Awakening. It's a murder mystery horror kind of thing. I am also working on a story called Deep Blue Stone, or DBS for short. DBS is a story that takes place over about fifty or so years. The story flips back and forth between different sets of characters in five different decades ('52, '67, '76, '83, and '98). The story's time and charaters might change, but for the most part, the setting doesn't. All of these characters come across the same 'cursed' place. By the end of the story, we'll unravel the mystery behind this deadly curse. Enough about me, I hope that you enjoy my writings and I will appreciate any and all feedback. Thank you for your time and think of me as I venture into actually getting paid for writing. I'll let you all know how it goes. Thanks one last time for your precious time. Thanks, Derrick Edgar James | |||||||
