Author has written 2 stories for Mythology, and Fantasy.

Hello,

I'm afraid I have very little time to spend here on FP.com. I apologize in advance to those who review and expect me to return the favor. I'm finishing up The Castle in the Story simply because I know there are readers out there who need closure on this tale. :) Plus, I can't stand authors who put a story up and leave their readers hanging. I try not to be one of those people. My story may be lousy by the end but dangit! I'm going to finish it.

For those who are wondering when the story is going to end ... *sigh*. At the moment, we've passed the halfway point and it looks like we might be over three-quarters of the way through. There's still the Keep (where we finally find out who's been giving Maple the creeps) and there's Doriel's arc to finish and some loose ends that will be tied up not long after. Unfortunately, there's one or two loose ends that I know are going to be left hanging.

My point? Unfortunately, this story is probably going to be more like 60 to 65 chapters long by the time I'm finished. I'm trying very hard to see what I can cut without ruining the story. There's one scene in particular that I adore but that will probably get turned into a one-shot because I have no idea where to put it inside Castle without ruining the flow of the story.

Oh, and about the confusion/lack of information in the first fifteen or so chapters... yeah, that's the section I haven't rewritten yet. I put it up As Is because that was my original intention with this story (don't ask why... it's a long answer). Then I read what I had written (about the time they're at Tusslefoot's house) and cringed... and started rewriting in spite of my original intentions.

Update: Castle is now finished. I apologize for the abrupt ending. The rest of my life needed me (that's an explanation not an excuse). For those few who are curious, the next story in this series is going to focus primarily on Doriel and Maple's children though a few of the characters from Castle will be in there as well... and we'll get to see what happens to the elves when Maple's children come of age. *evil grin* However, as I've said, the rest of my life needs me. All my writing (with the exception of stories for my children) is on hold for the next couple of years at least. My point? Unless I get inundated with reviews from different readers begging me for the sequel, it's going to have to wait until I've taken care of a couple of very urgent problems in my life.

About the summary: I have a difficult time writing catchy summaries. The best I can do is ... summarize. Actually, I'm pretty proud of myself for managing to stick the entire storyline into one sentence. Didn't think I could do that with such a long story.

Now, a quick word about the stories I've put on FP.com.

Loki, Son of Laufey
- This was written while I was working on something else. It was my "fun" story that I wrote while I took breaks from a story that turned out to be not so good and will never see the light of day. I have added an epilogue to "Loki" that changes the tone of the work quite a bit. So, if you don't like tragedies, or the ending here on FP.com didn't satisfy you, maybe the epilogue will. Email me if you want to read it.

The Castle in the Story
- This was the first novel I ever completed and it shows. I was originally going to put it up in its first iteration, but then I saw some spelling errors I needed to fix, and then I decided to re-work some of the phrases, and soon I found I was rewriting major scenes, including taking out a character. No matter how many (many many) cliches exist in this work, this is really my favorite so far out of all the stuff I've written.

Enjoy.
