Author has written 51 stories for Nature, General, Song, Life, Humor, General, Fantasy, Mythology, Essay, and Fantasy. Stuff to know about me: I'm an animation student, still learning. I hope to work at Pixar, or at Disney as it was (back in the days of Beauty and the Beast) and might be again someday. I take (quality) kid's books seriously. To me, Lois Lowry is every bit as deep as Kurt Vonnegut, Kate DiCamillo is on equal footing with Willa Cather, and Roald Dahl trumps them all! I'm an enormous dork (I read the dictionary for fun, I can quote Disney's Hercules word for word from start to finish, I can play "This is Halloween" from The Nightmare Before Christmas... on the pennywhistle.) I lived in Florence, Italy for a semester, studying art. Thanks to my Irish ancestry I'm the pastiest person alive, I'm constantly singing (usually about the sea), and I believe I may have some mermaid blood in me. If I had two weeks' free time (which, apparently, I won't until I'm 65) I'd train to be a sailor aboard of the Lady Washington (a beautiful wooden recreation of a 1750's ship. She appeared as the Interceptor in Pirates of the Caribbean.) The captain let me serve as a deck hand aboard of her a little while back, and now I'm hooked! My favorite place in the world is Conway Castle in Wales. My favorite poets are Edna St. Vincent Millay and William Blake. My favorite living authors are Ray Bradbury, Geraldine McCaughrean, and Margaret Atwood. My favorite living-impaired authors are Roald Dahl, Edgar Allan Poe, and John Steinbeck. My favorite book is The Little Prince. My favorite phrase for turning down a guy I don't want to date is "I'm sorry, I'm married to the sea." | |||||
