The last time I really focused on using my fictionpress account, I was a child. I read stories about romance and adolescent frustrations because I thought they were fun and endearing. Now that I've grown up some, my writing and personality have taken darker tones while still reflecting who I am. I no longer write "fluffy" poetry. I am a slam poet. A song writer. A novelist.
My name is Johnny Dawson.
I am a university student studying political science and English.
As there are two sides to everything, the same goes with my writing.
My personality reflects that.
On the one hand, you have my light-hearted self.
A refreshing, yet sarcastic take on life, love and everything else.
But of course, where there is a yin, there is a yang.
I like to write dark, haunting images that my characters react realistically towards.
Life, in that sense, is just as dark.
But I like to write about heroes. The ones who rise out of the dark.
And push it back.
"Heroes live as the world should be to show it what it can be." -David Boreanez as Angel
