Author has written 14 stories for Sci-Fi, Humor, General, Song, Action, and Thriller. My name's Jim Smith. I like science fiction and fantasy, mostly, although the occasional horror story may draw my eye. I also like standard action/adventure romps every once in a while. I'm not much for poetry. Sorry folks. I typically find it to be nonsensical and pretentious. Call me uneducated, but it's my personal preference. Other than that, there are some categories I really dislike, namely "spiritual" and "young adult" fiction. I'm not much for simplistic moral dilemmas and quandaries, like stories in those categories usually come down to. I don't like romance either, unless it's coupled with a genre I like. Favorite Personal Quote (from my time as an agnostic): "I will neither confirm, nor deny, the existence... of a greater being." Other funny personal quotes: "I am Stalin reincarnated!" (Yes, folks, the name of the game was sugar high...) "This is was separates the men from the dancing monkeys." Other favorite quotes: "Rommel, you magnificent bastard. I read your book!" -- Gen. George S. Patton, Jr. (movie version) "Get off my plane!" -- James Marshall "Don't let it end like this, tell them I said something." -- Pancho Villa (last words) "History will remember me well, for I intend to write it." -- Winston Churchill "France: Where the money falls apart, and you can't tear the toilet paper." "If A is a success in life, then A equals x plus y plus z. Work is x; y is play; and z is keeping your mouth shut." -- Albert Einstein. Current Fiction: A novel-length sequel to Operation: Wolf and Operation Wolf: The Agency. It's not going to be posted here, but with any luck, it'll get published someday. Upcoming Fiction ( means possible): Extended "Movie Star Wars". More corny puns! Oh what joy! Adandoned Fiction: The Old Switcheroo. Adults always want to relive their childhood, right? And children want to grow up faster, right? That's Daniel Murray's view. Industrial Manslaughter. Weird idea I had on a long bus ride with friends. I said I was "revoking them" and it kind of snowballed into a little sci-fi shortie. Thanks to the following people (that I know of...) who added me and/or one of my stories to their favorite authors and/or favorite stories list (Updated 6-13-05): Joe Hogle - read his "Trial of the Damned" and "The Last." Thanks also to ChristianGeekGuy for his useful, helpful, detailed, and informative reviews, as well as writing good fiction. | |||||||
