My entire universe revolves around love, especially that which I have for a particular young man named Keith. It is through love that I am beginning to understand the nature of reality. It is not hatred which reveals bitterness in our world, but love. For there is nothing which can destroy real love, but everything aside from love can be destroyed. Those you love can hurt you, leave you, pick you apart, or let you rot, and you will still love them. Those you love can be taken from you by death, insanity, drug abuse, bad situations, different families, skewed judgement... the possibilities of loss are endless, but you will still love them. There may come a point when they're world and your world are two different places, and you know that you must walk a different path, but you will still love them. They lie to you, and hide things from you, they can fail to see who you really are, they can fall short of every potential, they can be consumed by self-hatred, they can hurt the people around them and themselves, and they can let everything fall apart, but you will still love them. You may have to let them go, you may have to wave good bye, you may have to save yourself, but you will always love them.
That is the cruelty of reality, for in the end, though all the love in the world may not save any of us from the pain or sorrow of life, it is the only thing left standing.
