Well, it being about five years since I wrote this bio, I feel that it's about time for a change. Not that I've updated anything for some time, and thus don't deserve readers, reviewers, or anyone looking at my profile at all. But just for the sake of having a decent profile, as my boyfriend has made me ashamed to be without one, here are the bare bones you need to know about me as an author, if indeed, you need to know anything at all.
I am a 20 year old third year Creative Writing student at Queensland University of Technology in Queensland, Australia.
I am also female.
I am interested in:
Music (playing and listening)
Writing (quite obviously. I also believe I'm fairly good at it, although you can't tell that from the state of the stories archived here)
Reading (also quite obviously, because how can you become a good writer if you don't read anything?)
Sailor Moon (be quiet, I can't help it)
MASH (yes, I do mean the show with Hawkeye, Margaret and Klinger)
Robin Hood (The BBC version makes me weak at the knees)
Jekyll (a very mini mini series on the ABC the BBC in most places)
Monty Python (long live the Spanish Inquisition)
Music, favourite books and musicals require their own section (although I won't be including favourite songs, obviously), so:
Music
ABBA, Queen, Meat Loaf, Simon and Garfunkel, Enya, Delta Goodrem, Agnetha Faltskog, Missy Higgins, Matchbox Twenty, Brooke Fraser, Dido, Aqua, Celine Dion, Mika, Hinder, Deep Purple, Steeley Span, Fleetwood Mac, Blondie, Nightwish, John Williamson et al.
Books
Sword of the Truth series, The Old Kingdom Trilogy, Deep Secret, The Outlander Series, Fortress Series, Harry Potter, Wicked, Tamir Triad, Gone With The Wind, Pinocchio in Venice, Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre, Metro, I Knit Water, Zig Zag Street, Lord of the Rings, His Dark Materials et al.
Musicals:
Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Wicked, My Fair Lady, Singing in the Rain, The Sound of Music, Fame, Rent, Evita et al.
My Genres
Well the truth is, I prefer to dabble. I looked down the list of the stuff I have archived here and realised I have posted a number of different styles of writing. I think of myself as a romance, humour, fantasy, and young adult writer. I'm not big on the poetry, as you may (have) noticed.
I do not update regularly. I don't remember my last update, to tell the truth. I am, as many of you know, attempting to rewrite 'Modern Day Senorita', but if you're a detective, you'd say the trail had gone cold, and until I find a new suspect or a clue, I imagine that may be the case with that story. We shall, of course, see.
I have almost finished. After all, I'd hate to give you all this information and have you steal my identity. It's not exactly exciting. I do have a terrific boyfriend, so I suppose I can understand why you'd want to, but I have to warn you that I live on acreage, I have a fat, noisy, grumpy cat, my brother is 15 and so is inflicted with that phenomenon known as teenage boy which essentially means he smells, I am a supervisor at my work (I'm not saying where) but I don't get a lot of hours because I prefer uni and procrastinating to work, and just to really put you off, my room is so small I can barely fit my bed and my desk into it.
As my last note, if you're a fanfic reader in disguise, head to www.fanfiction.net/~romanticidiot (yes, of course that's a plug).
As my actual last note, if you feel like some good fantasy, go to www.fictionpress.com/~mayken . I do not believe you'll be disappointed.
Cheers (you have to say that in the creative writing faculty),
Liz.
