DISCLAIMER I am not (or ever) asking you to review or correct my grammar in my poetry. Stories, sure, metaphorically red mark them all you want, but 99 percent of the time, my incorrect grammar in my poetry is purposeful. I worship e. e. cummings as a poet. I think he's a genius. And, I like to believe that I come from his school of writing (although there is none). Critique my content, my word usage, etc. etc. etc., but please don't correct my grammar. I look at poetry both visually and orally. I will usually write it the way I intend the reader to read it. If there is no punctuation, but a line break, by all means, don't inflect your voice. However, the line break was probably meant to emphasize the fact that following words need to stand out, visually, not orally. I reserve the right to capitalize, comma splice, and generally wreak my poems grammatically anytime I wish.

I'm sarcastic, elitist, and a liar. But, I believe that one must be something of a liar to be even a remotely good writer.

I write for entirely selfish reasons. You may be astounded to know that, while I believe that death is a beginning, there's still that apocalypse-sized OTHER doubt back there that in may not, and in the case that this does happen, I'm doomed to make living life the best I can (oh yeah, big effort there) and because I want to be remembered even when I'm gone, by someone, even if it is my grandchildren, and by writing, I feel like I'm leaving something personal behind and sharing a part of myself with everyone else.
