| Fedora Jim |
Author has written 2 stories for Haiku, and Nature. Howdy y'all, I'm Fedora Jim (formerly Pog Mahon)! I'm a teenage female (yes, female) college student living somewhere in California. I'm an English major, so go figure. I'm currently writing a novel I began for NaNoWriMo, and it's taking up all the time I'm not spending doing college-related activities. The novel, entitled "Guardian Reaper", is the tale of a Reaper (as in Grim, though she insists it's a misnomer) named Liadan who is conscripted to watch over and protect a teenage half-Angel named AJ. However, babysitting duties become interrupted when a greater Demon comes after Liadan, for reasons she can only suspect have to do with her younger charge. Liadan's former protege, West, finds refuge with Liadan and AJ while fleeing from said greater Demon, and a lesser Demon by the name of Jerrott joins the crew after, for unknown reasons, seeks to help Liadan out. But what does this have to do with anything? Other than shameless promotion, "Guardian Reaper" ties in with another story I'm working on -- the prequel. Why a prequel, do you ask? Simple. Over the course of writing GR, I discovered that I really liked the relationship between Liadan and West. She considers him to be a sort of younger brother, and has strong protective instincts that I really enjoy writing. However, during GR's time frame, the relationship between Liadan and West is already established -- they've been working together for roughly twenty years. The prequel, titled "Death and Taxes" (it has a double meaning! Le gasp!), is the story of how Liadan and West met. It's just for fun, something I can work on when I have no other projects demanding my immediate attention (or I have writer's block), and I'm probably going to post it here so my friends can read it and amuse themselves, for they've been following my complaints about the GR saga with great interest. Hopefully you'll have the same great interest. But regardless, it's going to be written for my own enjoyment! I also have two or three other plot bunnies rolling around up there, which may or may not be posted someday. My partner-in-crime Rhiannon Aurorafai and I are writing a novelization of our ScriptFrenzy script on our joint account under the penname "Schatzi and Craic". Look it up at http://www.fictionpress.com/~schatzi_and_craic The story behind my penname involves a camping trip a couple of my friends and I went on. I wore my Indiana Jones fedora the entire time, even in the In n' Out Burger we stopped at on the way up. And after a conversation with my friends about what the other In n' Out patrons thought, Fedora Jim was born. "He" shows up at In n' Out on Tuesdays, so look for "him" there. Anyway, keep an eye on this space for more details! Yippee! I also have a fanfiction account at http://www.fanfiction.net/~craicagusceol, so be sure to look me up there! | |||||||||
