Time for a bit of revision, don't you agree? I'm starting all over again from scratch. A brand new slate, and a brand new story right in the making. Hopefully this one will keep my interest long enough for me to finish it. And hopefully school won't eat up every second of my time as it has been recently. Man, I can't wait for Chirstmas break...

... Mmm'kay, enough of my rambling. Let's get right down to the stuff all you kind, potential readers came here for.

The Kedar Chronicles

Book One

Escaping Destiny

Status: Chapter One - In progress

Summary: Thalia is the disgraceful crown princess of the Theocracy of Roscius. Her rebellious nature and refusal to learn have led all the citizens, noble and peasant alike, to weep for the future of their country. Even young Thalia herself knows that she would not suit Roscius as the next Prophetess, the job is much better suited for the peaceful idealism of her younger sister Selene. She has done everything in her power to persuade their father into passing rule onto Selene, but to no avail. There is no escaping her destiny.

Jael is a mercenary of Arcadia, the peaceful neighbor of Roscius. He is a peasant, forgotten by all except those close to him. He, like many others, has an unshakeable disdain for nobles. He is convinced that it is not Kings and Queens that protect, no. It is the mercenaries like him who risk life and limb for the common people.

To Thalia, to be Prophetess is to be a prisoner. Chained down with overwhelming responsibility, subjected to hours of long meditation, and her freedom torn away as soon as the tiara touched her head and the doors closed forever. She would do anything to escape it.

Jael cares very little for nobles. They are faceless beings to him, dictators ruling from on high. They have everything they could ever need, and know nothing of the value of hard work. All he had to do was find a way past the guards for a moment and nick a jewel or two off. No one would ever know, and that way he could help pay for dinner for a few days. But, even so, he had no business sneaking into the Castle Roscius courtyard that night...
