The Stories/Stuff I like to Read
I like reading stories on fanfiction and fictionpress where the heroines are strong characters...I especially like the story False Facade on fictionpress. If you haven't read it I recommend it. _ I also like stories where there are new twists to old cliches.
I love reading fantasy stories, see above examples if you don't believe me, and stories about strong female characters who love making sarcastic comments. I also like reading stories that have a good sense of humor in them. No humor? Tough luck, I'm not reading it. The story has to make me laugh...
List for the Bookworm Dummy
(I'm the biggest bookworm dummy of them all.)
The Great and Terrible Beauty:I took Pixy-Dizzy's advice and I read this one book called The Great and Terrible Beauty...which is a truly awesome book. If you are looking for something with mystery, romance, strong rebel heroine character, magic, fantasy, murder, runes, secrets, and humor, then this is the book for you. (p.s. it's coming out with a sequel!)
Marianne Curley (in general): Okay, and there's this one trilogy I especially want to showcase by Marianne Curley. The series iscalled the Guardians of Time series (It includes the book The Named and The Dark, and the third one, The Key,should be coming outthis year. Times vary though. If you live in Austrailia, you are one damned lucky person cuz the book is coming out in Febuary_ Tell me how it is alright? For all of us in the U.S, the book is coming out in July...I think...maybe it's June? Ah well, I'll check later.)Seriously, just go and check out her books. They are super good! Oh, and she also wrote the book Old Magic. Now, that is one good piece of literature. Looking for intrique, humor, humiliation, insane plot twists, cool old grannies, magic, medieval history, tales of valor and good ole chivalry? Look no further than this book. Trust me, it's awesome. I couldn't put it down...
The Lord of the Rings: I'm not a fanatic or anything, I'll admit it,cuz I'm definitely not as into it as my best friend Marie. She is obsessed. She has gotten to the point where she haslearned to speak Elvish andSyndarin, and well, I'm definitely not that diligent to figure out what the pretty scribblings mean!
Books by Lurlene McDaniel: Just make sure you don't read too many of her books or you'll get all depressed and know waaay too many diseases for your own good.
Harry Potter: Need I say anything about this? Most everyone knows what this book series is about...a good website to go on if you're obsessed? www.mugglenet.com!!
Meg Cabot: Okay, she is a really good writer. She has also written several things under the name of Patricia Cabot, such as the Lady of Skye, but uh, I wouldn't recommend it to the younger readers reading my prof. Someday you'll see what I mean...muahahahaha! Anyways, most of the books under the name of Meg Cabot are safe...cept for She Went All the Way. Now, that, kids is not something you should be reading. Meg Cabot has a very creative and humorous way of telling her stories!! Anyways, she has written some really good series such as:
-The Mediator Series (Definitely a must read. Even better - she's just had them reprinted, so go buy a copy today!)
-The 1-800 Where Are You Series (Another must. It's interesting, and the storyline is very gripping.)
Girl, 15, Charming But Insane: LOVE THIS BOOK! I cannot tell you with normal words how awesome this is! Wanna read about a girl, 15, who's a charming, but insane comediane who has to deal with a blonde best friend who's freakishly perfect and comes from a family so blonde that their house and dog are also blonde. Read it. I guarantee you'll love it, and if you don't, email me...I gave you my email for a reason you know_
The Forbidden Games Series: Again, it's another must-read. Unfortunately, this one is out of printing ( I think) and must be specially ordered...or bought off of Ebay! The Prince of Darkness (Julian. Has white-blonde hair and vivid electric blue eyes) has seen Jenny Thornton...and has fallen in love.
He loves her so much, in fact, that he leaves his Shadow World to go after her and her friends. Problem is, Jenny doesn't want anything to do with him, because he is the epitome of all evil. So, she resists and he makes them play his games...games where they'll die if they lose...games where Julian can drag Jenny down to hell for all eternity if she loses.
Tale of Two Cities: ARGH!! Why did he have to die at the end? (For those of you who have read this, you'll know who I'm talking about...) Seriously, this is an interesting, good book, and I absolutely love Sydney Carton!! (He's the most fascinating person in the book - honestly. He's drunk most of the time and he still outthinks everyone!!)
Phantom of the Opera: Looking for a bit of ghost story, romance, history, drama, angst, and gothic horror story? Look no further than here; this book is wonderful, and it's so suspenseful that you won't be able to put it down...well, at least not for the ordinary distractions (i.e. little sister)
Pride and Prejudice: Jane Austen has an excellent sense of humor, and the main character in this story, Elizabeth, rocks, and is the most vivacious 18th century character I have ever read about by an author from the 18th century.
Jane Eyre
Ernest Hemingway
Catch-22: This is the darkest, most hilarious piece of literature I've ever read by my choice.
Arthur Miller is a genius. May he, William Faulkner, andMary Shelley rest in peace.
Favorite Poems/Poets/Such
Emily Dickinson: She is a humongous inspiration...and her poems are so whimsical, so other-worldly...gah! I'm blabbing! Ahem, moving on.
Shakespeare: Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Sarah Teasdale: Beautiful poems...
Edgar Allen Poe: Annabel Lee. The Raven. Need I say more??
Edna St. Vincent Millay
Sylvia Plath
Richard Lovelace
John Keats
William Blake

Random Pieces of Advice
Know what you're eating when in a foreign country.
Never stop smling. It's one of the few things you can control.
Always think that you can win...never ever think that you will lose.
Running is all mental - start thinking that you are tired and you begin to believe yourself.
Personal Philosophies
Live everyday like its your last, laugh when you want to laugh, never hold in an opinion, and remain undaunted though those around you are. If you get in trouble, just think of it as a learning experience that you will try to avoid later. And love. Love forever and don't hold back in fear.
