I absolutely love writing. I don't really know how good I am; that's for you to decide with your reviews. Hopefully, I'm getting better every time.
I'd love to write a story, any story, so long as it's one I like. I've started tons - you should see my "Creative Junk" folder on my computer! It's packed to the brim with Word documents; first thoughts, first chapters, first few chapters even, that I never, ever finish. OK, I finished one. Just one. It's here, called The REAL Story; it's juvenile and indecipherable for anyone who wasn't an honorary 8th-grade Band Geek at my middle school, but I'm still very proud . But that's it for the finished stories, unfortunately. So you might see the first chapter or two of a story here, sometimes, maybe, if you're lucky and come on a good week/month/year. They're usually old too - I never take them down for some reason =P. Otherwise, these are just some random poems and pieces for you to critique.
You who know me, I don't need to write down all the stuff I'm in. You who don't, why should you care? You're here for some good writing, am I right? Well my friends, it's not much, but it's me. My brain, heart, soul, whatever you want to call it that goes into these. Have fun.
Literary Works
Our Climbing Tree - I submitted this to our school's literary magazine, under the mandatory theme of "change." What do you think?
Don't Read This Piece: It's Just Another Poem - Just kidding! You can read it.
Dreams - I think I said all I needed to in the summary of this one... it's a poem I found in my stash on my PC. I fixed it up and posted it here, just for the heck of it - please tell me what you think! I'd love to get feedback on this one.
Feeling - This was written when I found myself in the midst of a teen-soap-opera... and I was the star. It was quite a new experiance, as I usually steer clear of such a role. But I couldn't ignore my feelings at the time. Even though it's all over, I'm keeping this up; it's an important memory.
Undecided - This is new; I've never written like this before. I'm probably going to take this one off soon, though. It was an idea inspired by one of my friends; I like what I've written, but I just don't have the motivation to continue it. Besides, I have no idea where I'm going with it... a prologue and a chapter is up, so review those and tell me what you think.
Lip-Prints - Just my feelings on love/relationships at the moment... whistful, and maybe slightly bitter. I just recently re-posted it so the analogy is a bit more obvious (but not too much so - obvious relationships take all the mystery and fun out of analysis :P). Please R&R on it, I'd like feedback on this one especially.
Peace Places - written when I was enjoying a thunderstorm outside my window. If you review, I'd like to hear about your specific peace place, as well.
Sick With the Frown - just a cute poem I found that I had written a few years ago, I think. I fixed it up so it rhymed, just as an experiment. Kinda Shel Silverstein-inspired. Tell me what you think of it; if it's too campy, I'd like to know .
Through God's Eyes - Contrary to popular belief, I have bad days. I can get pretty depressed now and then. But Jesus speaks to me as I write...I don't know how He does it, ask Him someday when you see him :-P. Anyway, this really, really helped me in my time of need, and I hope my Friend uses it to help someone out there who reads it too...
Little Jungle Cat - This was inspired by my kitten, a gorgeous shiny-black streak named Nova. Although this was written before she was a year old, she's still just like this ; )
Burned Friendship - I see a lot of poems in which authors lash out and thrust all their anger (directed specifically at one person, usually, if not the world) into the poem. I use writing as a sink for my emotions too. But this poem is written from another perspective on conflict.
The REAL Story! - The last two chapters are finally up; I've decided you all needed a conclusion. I had a TON of fun writing this with my friends my 8th grade band year !!! Please read it - if you don't mind losing your sanity for a while. Don't worry, I'll give it back eventually, if I think you can handle it.
Fare thee well!
