Author has written 3 stories for Young Adult. 7/2/09: As you can see, all stories have been on a standstill since 2005. However, soon I hope to finish what I've started. You can help speed up the process by reading what I've written so far and reviewing what is posted. Please read and respond honestly. I am always eager to hear what others think, good or bad. "No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world." --John Keating, 'Dead Poets Society' Keep writing, Works in Progress: Patience is a Virtue: My current "masterpiece" and I'm pretty proud of it so far. Patience is your average teenager. Living in Colorado has proved difficult in advancing her budding career as a magazine editor, but she’s always had a large family to support her. In fact, sometimes she wishes her family would just leave her alone. They’ve already ruined her life by 1) sending her to a small, private school 2) making her full-time babysitter of her little siblings and 3) giving her what she considers the worst name on the planet. In her junior year, Patience’s wish comes true. An unknown, great-aunt passes away and leaves her with an extraordinary gift - the chance to attend Bree Smith Academy in California. Bree Smith isn’t your average high school, however. Bree Smith is a school for the rich and the famous. At first, Patience is excited at her opportunity to spread her wings, but the year is going to be tough. Finding true friends is hard and not making enemies is even harder. For once in her life, Patience is going to wish she could up to her name. My main focus right now. Like I said earlier, I'm pretty proud of how this stands right now. I consider it my best writing to date. Chapter 11 is currently up. Our Freshman Year: You think your siblings are bad? Try living in a family of Quads. That's what its like for Katie, Cory, Ashley, and Alexz Mclean. Starting their freshman year of high school is going to be tough and they're going to have to rely on each other for help. Katie is having best friend problems, Cory is flunking math, Ashley wants to become popular, and Alexz is struggling to manage the newspaper and help her siblings with their problems. Talk about one crazy family. Currently on standstill. This was written when I was in the 7th grade and you can tell when you read it. I'm considering taking it off, rewriting it and reposting. I love the idea of a story told from 4 POV's, but its not working as is and the grammar is horrendous. Again, this is another piece where brutal honesty is welcomed in reviews. Completed Works: Lizzie's Summer: A teenage, love novel. Lizzie Clarkson is back home in TN, from school, and is going to have an interesting, yet never boring, summer. Sky enters her life (but is he really who he says he is), her friend Ty will go through fiance problems, her parents have a new, unwanted surprise for her, and her bffs are miles away - Morgan is in Greece and Courtney is obsessed with her boyfriend in CA. This is the story of how one girl overcomes it all. I'm currently in the process of reevaluating this story and will, hopefully, go back and rewrite. Therefore, if anyone is brave enough to read the entire thing, I am looking for brutally honest reviews. | |||||||||
