Author has written 33 stories for Humor, Humor, Fantasy, Nature, Life, Friendship, Politics, General, Family, General, and Love. 2-5-2012 I have not touched this account for years, but I suppose I may as well use it again now. Some of the things I have on here I am still okay with, others less so. I feel most writers take a similar attitude towards some works they do like and others they don't. For now, I will leave everything that is currently here up if only for my own benefit, though please feel free to read and comment any anything. The rest of the bio was last updated 5-30-2008. Hmmm... what to say? My favorite authors, meaning people whose work I will read because I trust it to be good because it was written by them, (and this list changes from time to time, though not dramatically) include: Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, Oscar Wilde (notice any tendencies?), Eoin Colfer, and I will always have a soft spot for Tamora Pierce, though I no longer jump every time she puts out a new book. Favorite books: See above authors' works. And yes, I read Harry Potter and will be buying the 7th book the day it comes out. And I read the Pendragon series by DJ MacHale, although lately I've become more and more critical about how the author is handling the story. Anyway, it was great reading when I started it. (Of course I was about 4 years younger then.) I love The Giver, but Gathering Blue wasn't nearly as good. I rather enjoyed The City of Ember. I also really liked Spindle's End by Robin McKinley and Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. (I intend to read more of his work... once I get around to getting to the library.) Um, I think that's about all I feel like writing about me and probably a bit more than you felt like reading. But if you're looking for a good read, check out the authors and books I mentioned. It's not a complete list, but it'll do for now. And... I rather like writing. Well, honestly, I like the results better than the process, which is why I write a lot of short pieces, like poetry and one-shot fiction. But I am going to participate in NaNoWriMo this year, and may put that story up... After November is over and I've edited the crap out of it. .x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x. And my writing, listed by year originally written, not by year revised and posted: 2008: 3AM From 2007, I have: Sealed in Summer Piano Lesson The Illogic of Storing Your Brains in Your Feet Next The Mysteriously Incessant Clicking I Will Survive History Class These were from 2006: Missing You Time A Treatise on the Social Dynamics of a World without Peanut Butter Escape of the Circus Animals Vending Machine Something Wants to be Written Here Cousin's Chocolate Rearranging the Universe The World No Longer Enunciates its Words To Lose a Friend Life as a Fairytale Nixon Life in Standstill Writer's Block Conversation with a Pine Beetle These poems (and story) were written sometime in 2005: Sarah's Joey Story Her Thoughts Never Say Such a Dream Flying Closer to Midnight Payback Overwhelmed (this one is iffy, but I'm leaving it up) No Sympathy (it's kind of emo, but oh well) Ode to My Purple Pen From 2004: Nothing anymore. I took down a few things that I really don't want anyone to see anymore because they were just that bad and I now recognize this. (This used to be a joint account, but I am now its sole user, so I also took down the stuff that wasn't mine.) I admit to having an ego, like all writers, so do review. Constructive criticism is highly welcome. Please don't be mean if you don't have anything useful to say. But by all means be mean if you're going to be useful while you're at it. I've mostly posted poetry, though I do have some short fiction up and will be adding more. | |||||||
